Ellisland Farm Auldgirth
#1 of 1 Sights & Landmarks in Auldgirth
Having visited many sites connected with Burns across South West Scotland including his various houses, I have to say this is the one which really seems like it is his home.
At first you may think it has little to show because of the size of the place but that view will quickly disappear as you go to, what I will call, an annex to the house where you can watch a video about the farm's...

Devorgilla Bridge
#11 of 20 Sights & Landmarks in Dumfries
It is also sometimes referred to as "Old Bridge" and is a lovely bridge to look at and to cross and take in the splendid views of the river.
The view up and downstream takes in the old port, the old watermill, the suspension bridge and the old windmill tower stands up on the hill.

Lockerbie Garden of Remembrance Lockerbie 12.9 km away
#1 of 2 Sights & Landmarks in Lockerbie
Children didn’t know the story and we were moved when we met a woman at the site who’s son had died in the disaster .
We did not visit Lockerbie with any specific intention of visiting this site, but agreed as we were in the town we would go and visit the garden.
New Abbey Corn Mill New Abbey 9.8 km away
#2 of 2 Sights & Landmarks in New Abbey
The mill was built on the site of an older mill, probably built in the late 13th century built by the Cistercian monks of Sweetheart Abbey.
We would recommened visiting, cost is reasonable, but if you plan on visiting several historic sites, consider a multi pass to save a few pennies.
