Friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. Tour was a perfect walking experience and lasted just the right amount of time in each section. Whisky en route was excellent

We drove up from the harbour and found plenty of free parking. The views (even on a cold wet day) are terrific; beautiful views across the busy harbour and over to the sound of Mull. There are a number of roads and paths you can walk down and up. Highly recommended.

We received a warm welcome when we called in late in the day to the museum which is an excellent place to visit and discover more about war time Oban and the endeavours of the local people and regiments.
Sadly our visit was sullied when one of the volunteers chose to display his innate xenophobia and racism with an entirely inappropriate and uncalled for response in a discussion about the stunning art deco building next door. This man, who called himself a “ squaddie” let the museum down badly. It is entirely inappropriate to have racism mainstreamed in any environment in this day and age. His colleagues need to call him out as he’s a liability and not an asset to the museum.

Although the gardens closed early (12.00) due to expected strong winds we did enjoy our short walk around. The viewport is well worth visiting as the view is amazing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Dunollie Castle. Staff very helpful and friendly. Our tour guide Jamie was excellent, so enthusiastic and informative. Great views from the Castle. The Kettle Tearoom served very enjoyable snacks. Disappointed not to see the red squirrels but staff assured us that they can often be seen.

A really nice spot to visit. Situated not far from the main road and easy to find. Plenty parking and the castle itself may be a ruin, but it was still worthy of a visit. The exterior wall is intact but the interior is no more than ruins with a towered roofed section which you go up through to get onto the walk which takes you around the wall of the castle. Still ....... a really historical place that definitely worthy of a visit if you're in the area.
Also, there are ruins if a Chapel in the woods here also.

This is a small-ish beach hiidden away at the edge of town. beach is a mixture of sand/gravel and rocky areas. had a good hour or so here with the dog on the beach , plus the surrounding dunes/hills.

car park is a paying one and there is a burger van type thing also.

not the best beach but worth a visit if in town. clean and tidy too !

The ladies took time to explain what there is to do in the area whilst giving a little history of many of the locations.

Just to make it a great day we stopped to enjoy this local attraction. Nice little spot for a short walk and enjoyment of the wonders of nature. We chatted to some locals and a team of guys who had just crossed the falls with rock climbing gear. Made for an interesting and enjoyable day.

It was a lovely but very hot walk down from the ferry as we chose one of the hottest days in September - but the tea garden made a good resting place. The castle is a ruin but well preserved for its location. I found it well worth the assent on the hill but my wife felt that would have been a step too far: despite the heat the grass was still wet and slippy and I slipped at one point on the way down The views from the castle are wonderful and the bay below it was a great place to have lunch and a paddle in the sea.

Fascinating museum with imaginative and clear ways of explaining all sorts of things about the sea. Not a massive museum but an incredibly creative use of space and different methods of communication! We have never ever previously watched a video in a bin! A thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours including a lovely cup of tea in the cafe!
