Galloway Activity Centre Castle Douglas
Galloway Activity center is a great outdoor place where there's and event for everyone!
We left out of Glasgow and drove to Galloway activity center.
It would be great if all information centers had staff as great as Balloch's!!
The information center is stocked with everything you will need.
Informative friendly staff, nicely laid out center
We have used this information center quite a number of times over the years and always been met with good information and always pleasant smart staff
The center has binoculars and about 8 mounted high quality spotting scopes, excellent quick reference birding guides and books, and staff who are both friendly and know their birds and other creatures.
It took us only 30’ min by foot to get to visitor center, from downtown Montrose.
Culloden Battlefield Culloden Moor
The Culloden Battlefield visit includes an outstanding museum/visitor center, a great audio guide, and a beautiful yet very emotional trail around the battle site.
What is really different is the fantastic visitors' center with museum displays and extensive interpretive exhibits of the battlefield, the Jacobite Rising, and the history of the time.
11 Ways to experience it
We loved the beautiful visitor center, the friendly people, sampling the whiskey, and the selection in the visitor's store.
All other members of staff we encountered during the tour, either in the visitor center or labour within the distillery itself were all extremely friendly.
3 Ways to experience it
The industrial exterior look is balanced by one of the brightest visitor centers of any distilleries I have seen, with large windows opening up on the river.
It has an overwhelming welcome to anyone who enters the Visitor Center.

A very long but spectacular walk up hill from Dunkeld, (round trip hike at least 2.5 hours) with a bird sanctuary and viewing center at the top at the Lochs.
The visitor center is well equipped with information, and the staff are very informative.
While staying in Kirkwall for a week, we frequented the center several times and were rewarded with lots of invaluable information, always dispensed with a smile and lots of patience.
Excellent Resource
Excellent location Very friendly staff and perfect knowledge of all information for tourists The shopping is really great attached with the center Thanks
Located at the edge of town, this is a great resource for local tourist information.
We always stop in to the VisitScotland Information center in Pitlochry to see what new maps, books and souvenirs are available.
The folks inside this information center were extremely nice and helpful sharing information about Pitlochry and the surrounding area.
Always have my picture took by the distillery doors and the young lady in the visitor center helped me out by coming out the warmth to take my picture in a howling gale, many thanks !
Friendly staff and a really nice facility\visitor's center and shop.
The library specialises in material relating to Glasgow’s history, including the city’s Archives and has extensive family history resources.
Its such a valuable resource providing facilities to all, that are as yet unmatched by any other library I've been in, I believe it worthy of support.

The Visitors Center is lovely and the staff is knowledgeable, interesting and fun.
We stopped into the visitor center after our round of golf at Kingsbarns.

Great resource.
Before you go anywhere visit this information center the staff are incredibly well informed and helpful, from bus times to the best food nothing too much trouble.
I had no idea about the barrel business until I toured the visitor center and surrounding grounds.
... was more Irish always thinking she was Scottish what a surprise there are many experts there.Just great friendly people and there are a number of small shops right in the info center where you can buy anything.
Our Ship was docked at a pier a couple of miles away, but Lerwick offered a free shuttle that dropped us off in front of the visitor Center.
Excellent center to find tours, souvenirs, and lots of helpful suggestions from the staff.
Great resource, delightful staff
We take the walk to the FIsh Ladder and Dam every time we're in Pitlochry and this year we were advised of the new visitor center.
Did a lovely walk round the dam and went into the visitors center would have done ben vrackie but it had still snow.
Excellent Advice and Resources
Needed some advice on Hostels and the Information center had everything available.
The building and small gardens were beautiful and the new galleries provided the museum with a modern, accessible resource which were presented in an informative way.
Spiffy New Building Houses Museum, Library, and Cultural Center
We visited because my husband was interested and the Center had been recommended to us by other guests in the hotel we were staying in - I went along for the ride!
The following day we decided to visit the center.
