Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We recently held our wedding party at the Barn at Llancaiach Fawr as we had got married in Las Vegas and wanted our friends and family to be involved in our celebration.

From start to finish dealing with the staff at Llancaiach Fawr was easy and I loved the whole experience of planning the party. Victoria Scullin the Events Manager was super friendly and helpful and was so accommodating. Victoria was happy for me to visit to plan room layout etc. and to support with our Vegas theme.

On the evening of the party all staff involved were super efficient and kind to our guests, and we couldn't have asked for a better evening. The buffet was amazing and the catering staff were also really friendly and helpful.

The venue is beautiful and we were able to have photographs in the gardens and the manor house and we loved the character and history that Llancaiach Fawr has. The Barn is all lit up at night making it a gorgeous party venue. Considering how beautiful the buildings and grounds are, Llancaiach Fawr remains an excellent value venue for any celebration and the staff totally make the experience a happy, memorable one.. thank you all so much!

We have visited since for coffee and lunch and the standards of service are always excellent.

We visited the Morbitorium and the children were fascinated. It was really interesting and we enjoyed our visit. The owner was very friendly. We spent around 30/45mins here and then visited a little park down the road to bulk out the day. I would recommend going here but it wouldn’t be a full day out.

If you like beautiful views go to Caerphilly mountain. You can see all of Caerphilly which is a beautiful sight, especially at night when you can see the twinkling lights from streets and houses. Caerphilly mountain is also an amazing place to go at bonfire night because you can see fireworks all around because you are so high up. The food in the burger shack is fantastic and extremely delicious! If you have a dog or enjoy walking, Caerphilly mountain is the place for you, plus when you have finished your walk, you can grab a cuppa and some food from the burger shack opposite. The drinks are freezing cold and there are lollies you can choose any flavour you want and sit on a bench and enjoy your lollies and the sun set! Harley and Greyson aged 7

My last visit today to say thank you staff and Managers for the many years of professional service..
A place where many people became regulars. Myself the last call after my shopping before getting in my car. Now my Bank has gone and Coffee Vista so time to look for a new area for me..
I wish all the staff well and hope they soon secure employment. A huge thank you...

A beautiful church to visit, close to the train and bus station. Lovely warm welcome and hot drinks offered. A guided tour leaflet is available to take you around the church. Very helpful. They're open every day 11-3pm.

Went May 2022 during half term break. Great access by public transport as it drops off by bus beside the entrance. Went with mum and son. Sun was out and we walked in the impressive landscaped areas that had been reclaimed from mining communities decade's before. My family worked in mining as did others in the area. Wonderful pond with birds and wildlife and bridges crossing over to explore. Plenty of camp sites and picnic and benches to admire the views. Highly recommend on site cafe as it is well run and has plenty of savoury and sweet food products. Often busy so get in early especially hot days for ice cream. Outside seats were dog friendly.

Located close to Senghenydd where the greatest loss of life was experienced in 1913. It is truly amazing how many mines were in operation at the time. Now, thankfully all gone.

Took two dogs and walked from the car park down the level tarmac path (alongside the river) for about 30 minutes. Turned right at the sign for Cwmfelinfach and followed the road out to this town. At the main road turned left and after 5 mins found a very small cafe. That pit stop was enough to fuel our return journey along the dirt path back to the car park. Obviously, didn’t get to see everything - would need more visits. If you’re a Walker getting to the cafe should be no problem.
