Lloyd George Museum Llanystumdwy

I wish more museums were as well thought out & the guides as friendly & informative without being gushing.
Left this museum believing it ought to be required visiting for all architectural students so as to see how well laid out small museums can be.

Situated just opposite the entrance, and free to get in (although donations are I'm sure welcome to help with costs) this is one of the best regimental museums around.
This is one of the best designed military museums I have visited and I have visited a lot.

So big is it that it contains a Railway museum that is aa big as many saopecialist museums and better laid out.
There is loads to do: visit the steam railway museum which is interesting and allows you on some of the engines and carriages, explore the castle and it's amazing rooms and views, explore the grounds and wonderful...

but i love these little museums, because they do something to keep aviation story alive.
Me, my partner & our 21 month old daughter had a great day out, most of the aircrafts you can go in, there's history information boards next to the aircrafts it mentions, the museum is indoors so a brilliant day w...

... which takes tides, a converted carriage now a family friendly cafe, a well stocked shop with lots of exotic and affordable train stock...there's a museum... it's just a lovely day out, even if it's a bit drizzly.
Really enjoyed this very interesting museum, great railway layouts, lots of interesting artefacts and a super large model complete with a recording of the history.

Enjoyed our visit, interesting museum and we had a wonderful mug of tea each by wonderful staff dressed up as pirates.
But I did have time to have a good mooch round the station/shop/buffet, and the small but excellent museum (which includes an old carriage partly restored - one end immaculate, the other a timber shell), plus a go...

Lovely interesting museum with personal stories, varied exibits including a little ship's galley.
We had a lovely time visiting this small but informative museum which is located just behind the main street in Porthmadog.

There is a £4 car park fee for the Slate Museum/Pararn Country Park but the museums are FREE.
Within the realm of the Welsh Slate Museum, a short-15/20 minute leisurely walk takes you to this fascinating place to view first hand what the medical facilities of the day were like for the quarrymen of the day-...

As well as all the artefacts, exhibits and information display boards that are normally associated with museums, we were treated to film shows and demonstrations.
We spent the day walking around the local museums.

The Museum relies on grants and donations to keep going and I imagine that the guides are volunteers, so most visitors would not baulk at making a donation.
I am not sure the gallery (A K A the Tabernacl) should be known as the Museum of MODERN Art as though they specialise in 20th and 21st Welsh Art Oriel Davies in nearby Newtown is more avant garde.
Byd Mary Jones World Llanycil 21.6 km away

I grew up with the amazing story of Mary Jones and it was wonderful to visit this great museum!
This relatively new exhibition/museum in a converted church is beautifully made.

With free entry and refreshments available if required provided by the very friendly and welcoming staff, I would certainly recommend this little gem of a museum.
Charming little museum recently opened in restored village church.

Well worth a visit to this small but excellent museum and now has excellent cafe for light lunches and tea/coffee and great selection of cakes.
Cafe very inviting, shop with a variety of unusual items, and museum galleries though small were excellently displayed in a traditional museum way.

This is a small museum with some special local treasures - like the Roman swords.
Storiel is the museum and art gallery in Bangor and performs both strands beautifully.
Alison Bradley Gallery Betws-y-Coed 29.7 km away
#2 of 2 Museums in Betws-y-Coed
Firstly this is not an exhibition or a museum but a gallery that sells original oil paintings, charcoal drawings, prints and cards of a local artist to Betws y Coed, Alison Bradley.
