Really impressive mall. Its large with plenty if not all the shops you would want. Spread over two floors with a third floor full of bars and restaurants. Easy to navigate and very central

My wife and I were revisiting Oxford to see again the wonderful museums and botanic gardens, when we came across a place we had read about before our visit. The Picture Gallery is right in the centre, off the High Street, and is part of Christ Church College, which is itself a spectacular building and well worth seeing. We were directed by a friendly porter (lady) in bowler hat to the Gallery entrance, where, as seniors, we paid a small entrance fee to look round the superb gallery and, after their lunch break, also had a free guided tour which we had booked. It was a fascinating visit and we were also very impressed by the welcoming and knowledgeable gallery staff. Would love to visit again.

During our short stay in Oxford, we had the opportunity to visit Cornmarket Street on two separate occasions. Both times were during the day and each of those times the quite long pedestrian mall was crowded with both locals and tourists
The street is home to a large number of retail outlets, banks, fast food joints, coffee lounges and souvenir shops. When we were there, it was the souvenir shops which appeared to drawing the greatest number of shoppers.
Shopping can be a tiring activity and it is always good to have public benches where you can sit down for a short test. There are a few standard benches scattered along the street. However there are also these rather curious structures which provide you with the chance to half sit and half lean. They are not at all comfortable and they do not provide the opportunity to properly rest your legs or feet. The local council would do well to replace these useless structures with normal street benches. They also need to pay more attention to emptying the litter bins. On both occasions that we were in the street, the bins were full to over-flowing.
A good vicinity for a bit of retail therapy in the heart of Oxford but be prepared for crowds of people and lots of litter!

The Clarendon has some high street shops and places to get a coffee. Yeah
It’s often quieter than the newly built shopping centre nearby.
It’s also near to a lot of other shops on the streets outside

It’s not really and antique shop but does sell old books, pictures, comic albums cameras, jewellery glassware and other miscellaneous items.

Since the pedestrianisation of North Parade after the pandemic, the Market has continued to grow with more traders and attendees. It is now thronging by mid-day, with live music, many and varied vendors, and all of the great traders that occupy the shopfronts along the Parade. Permanent traders include two new and distinct art galleries, two fantastic coffee shops, two famous pubs, fantastic and inexpensive sandwiches, and the purveyors of fantastic hyperlocal foods, 2 North Parade Produce. The vendors include Tuyen, who makes the best vietnamese food in Oxford, and a range of other food and craft purveyors (bread, meat, fish, flowers, microgreens, ceramics, imported scarves, jewelry, leather goods, Jamaican jerk chicken, farm produce, etcetera).

Popped in here while shopping in the Cornmarket area. I didn't buy anything myself but it is a nice shop with a good selection of clothing, a bit different to the usual high street chain shops, not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.

A decent selection of prints, though beware of the inexcusably rude and aggressive woman who currently runs the shop...

The o3 is a great little gallery that rotates it's exhibitions every few weeks so that there is something new to see regularly. They display contemporary art and craft, i say craft because the works could be textile or ceramics just as well as photography or painting. on the mezzanine level of the gallery there is also a shop selling prints, paintings, cards, jewellery etc by artists. Fantastic if you're looking for a unique gift for someone. they also host networking events for artists and craft persons as well as artists talks and the staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Oxford.

This shop specialises in antique fine country wooden furniture, mainly oak but some elm, walnut and other woods. Most of the collection dates from the 17th century, and the majority English, but there are also some wonderful Italian pieces for sale.

The shop is small and run by the owner, who is wonderful and more than happy to educate the ignorant (like me)!

The shop also sells prints of the artist Cyril Powers, best known for his linocut prints, who was the grandfather of the owner. These are produced in limited runs, beautifully mounted and very good value.

This shop is well worth the visit, even if just to lament the success of disposable flat-pack furniture!

Nice little venue - we went along to see Jim Eoin. Parking is tricky, so give yourself plenty of time to park up. All good in the theatre, but the bar staff! They are well meaning but so slow and vague. Obviously a team of volunteers, they take an age to serve you.

Unbelievable that they call themselves a “gallery”Overpriced and oversold drivel. Lots of prints, a few measly “originals” to pack the shop out, but the artists profiles they are selling are very inflated and exaggerated.
I’d be very very interested if any of this art sold holds any market value.
“You must love it” but a lot of it is cheap, basic and dated. I feel a bit sorry for the people working there as they are clearly working for commission and the atmosphere of very sales like.
    Wouldn’t recommend.
Go to a real gallery or get an actual art dealer to find you real art.
