What travellers are saying
- John Sp2 contributionsHas got to be one of the best natural history museums in the country. So many displays are so accessible. It can only open enquiring minds to the wonders of the world.Written 26 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- FlaminghaemBrighton, United Kingdom13 contributionsFascinating - first visit and could have stayed for hours. Will certainly be returning next time in Oxford.Written 29 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Franklin H2 contributionsWe were staying at the malmaison, and visited the Castle for the tour. This was very good, a lot of information, and good views. Very good, thank you.Written 28 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- moonGlasgow, UK250 contributionsNice experience walking around Oxford with the University buildings taking up so much prominence in the centre. Also very relaxed ambience amongst the buildings and some nice stops for pictures. Were self exploring but if visiting next time, would go on a walking tour. Good place to appreciate the history of the University.Written 30 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- David PHorspath, UK164 contributionsThe world’s first museum. Excellent galleries, good explanations and contextualisation, covering a wide range of history and art. Highly recommended. There’s also a great cafe and restaurant on the top floor with a cool view over the city.Written 26 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Bjørn1 contributionVery interesting and partly breathtaking. Culture and history at its best! Thank you, guide Jessica !Written 1 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Carol9 contributionsOnly possible to be visited via ticket and audio guide - not cheap, but definitely worth it. There are Harry Potter and Alice in Wonderland aspects but its whole history as a place of worship and learning is the most important. The staff were particularly helpful and caring with one member of our group with special needs.Written 23 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Maureen TNew Milton, UK12 contributionsI was not expecting a green space like this in the middle of a bustling city. Peace and quiet (except for the bells) and Long horned cows with their babies!Written 24 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- cliff k1 contributionOrdered an Oxford Rye on next day delivery. The courier let Oxford Artisan down and delivery was delayed but Oxford Artisan refunded the whole delivery cost even though it wasnt their fault. Lovely people!Written 20 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- aferryNew Orleans, LA196 contributionsI wanted to visit Magdalen College in order to visit the room where Richard III heard a learnèd disputation among masters. I was surprised and happy that I was able to stand at one corner of the room so as to imagine the Medieval scenario of monks and masters in academic regalia vociferating for their prince.
The inexpensive admission price to Magdalen (which I am informed is pronounced “Maudlin”) also permits entrance into the rear of Magdalen’s statue-studded chapel.
The quadrangles and parks are also pleasant. Even if one is not a Harry Potter aficionado, he/she may enjoy the Potter vistas.Written 24 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Jenny l9 contributionsMy husband and I visited the church, it was very beautiful! The architecture of the building, the artworks inside the church, the stained glasses in the windows, all was done so detailed and coordinated. Amazing place!Written 20 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- aferryNew Orleans, LA196 contributionsI was lucky to arrive in Oxford on May 1. There were revelers still in the street before noon. As a university town, Oxford was energetic, and its classic neo-classic buildings were impressive, most importantly the Radcliffe Camera (RadCam). I wish that I could have entered, but I was not a “reader.”Written 24 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Katarina SWeimar, Germany14 contributionsWe booked a room here to stay and it is a wonderful college to wander around, so many beautiful spaces like the cloister and the garden to see. The rooms are simple, but even in the new building it was a really comfortable nights rest lovely porters who were so helpful, would recommend spending the night if you can!Written 21 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Sarah BLincoln, UK87 contributionsHaving walked past the gardens on previous trips to Oxford this was the first time we actually ventured in. The Gardens are set out nicely and June was a good month to visit as many plants were in bloom!Written 26 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Frances HLeyland, UK123 contributionsOne of the sights I have always wanted to visit so was pleased to have done so even though, understandably, you can only view it from the street. My photos show people everywhere because we were there on a graduation day but that just added to the atmosphere.Written 19 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
