It is always a pleasure to visit Port Meadow, to ride around, go for walks, fly a kite, watch the boats, take nature photos, etc. can be a bit smelly with the cows and horses but that adds to the magic.
It is large park appropriate for picnics and kite flying, but the best part is the field of ponies and horses.

All in all this is a really good day out and although slightly off the beaten track is worth a visit, particularly if you combine it with the spectacular scenery at Edge Hill and the Dassett Hills Country Park.
We felt warmly welcomed by all the staff we encountered from the kind lady driving the buggy from the car park to the knowledgeable guides and the friendly staff in the cafe.
