Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Andy RKent, UK21 contributionsAn awesome little gem in London!
My daughter and I went to visit, as she was interested in the architecture side of things and I like anything free and quirky!
Don't take big bags, they give you a small plastic bag to put your bits in, but rucksacks I would advise against.
The house is pretty much left in the state it was when Sir John died, and is a real insight into his work and ideas. He even got an act of parliament to ensure it was free and as he would leave it, probably the only decent act of parliament in history!
The staff were really nice and very friendly, eager to answer any questions and they were very knowledgeable too.
The rooms are quite tight in places, but they control visitors coming in so it doesn't get too packed
The artifacts, books, drawings and paintings are beautiful. Sir John liked to have natural light in rooms and the clever use of skylights and mirrors achieves that.
It is free to visit and there might be a queue at times, but you don't have to wait long at all. You can get a small guide book for ÂŁ3 on entry and it gives information as you walk through but it great on its own as a keepsake of the day.
There is a small shop and toilets, although unfortunately it would not be suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs due to the tight spaces and stairs.
You can book and pay for tours of other areas I believe too.
If you are after a hidden gem, free to enter, that is really interesting to see, then give it a go, I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed!Written 14 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Not a huge collection but could still spend 1-2 hours reading everything. Easy to get to and a must for any visitors to London, one of the best museums I have been to. Highly recommendWritten 17 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- heatherBrighton, UK1 contributionI had so much fun in Hatton Garden looking for a wedding band. I’d made appointments literally all day with various places (9 shops booked) . Everyone (bar 1 place) were absolutely incredible. Ironically, I ended up buying my wedding band from a family owned jewellery shop that wasn’t even on my radar - I was walking past and I saw literally what I’d envisioned in my dream - they were lovely- explained everything, gave me time to think and rethink and I came back 3x in the day to retry it to make sure. They were patient and kind- I can’t wait to pick up in early July. Thank you Raphael London.Written 8 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- marionandmickholleyTaunton, UK17 contributionsWe went to the matinee performance of a night with Janis Joplin on 11.9.2024. It was an early Christmas present for a fan of many years and a birthday present for me. The cast were amazing, the musicians, the singers could not be faulted. We would highly recommend that people visit this show.Written 12 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Colm NCrawley, UK232 contributionsThis is not a market in the same way as Borough Market or Greenwich Market. There are a few fairly cheap clothing stalls, selling stuff like jogging bottoms and socks. But the selling point of this place are the huge range of food stalls which spring up from about 12 noon to about 2.30.
Fantastic range of food, a lot of it gluten-free from all around the world. Thai. Indian, Vietnamese, Thai, Brazilian, Portuguese etc etc.
The portions are pretty decent but you can expect to spend about ÂŁ8 (give or take) for a portion/box.
If you show up at peak times, prepare to queue!Written 15 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A prompt service and at a reasonable price. They are our first port of call in Hatton Garden.Written 29 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Carolyn MAberdeen, UK493 contributionsBeautiful ancient church & glorious stained glass windows, at the end of what appears to be a private street, which in itself has some lovely buildings.Written 16 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TheBigDaddyDWakefield, UK112 contributionsCame here to see And Juliet. Beautiful London theatre with a fantastic performance by the cast. Staff were friendly. Does get very warm in there, though, so be sure to get a cold drink before the show starts.Written 4 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - therichastillStevenage, UK3,237 contributionsChancery Lane is a station on the Central Line of the London Underground network. It is served by trains from Liverpool St, Stratford, Epping and Hainault in the East and Oxford Circus, White City, Ealing Broadway and Ruislip in the West.
The area has lots of lovely buildings which date back centuries ago and it is nice to marvel at how these buildings have withstood the test of time.Written 3 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Tanya BBristol, UK55 contributionsMy partner wanted to buy my engagement ring from Hatton Garden so we set out to research where to visit ahead of going.
I reached out to a number of shops regarding having a bespoke ring made and we went along to our appointments.
Each shop we visited felt like we were being over sold to (think cheesy car sales).
The rings we were shown we nice but we just felt that there was nothing particularly special about any of them.
Our last stop was to meet Vince at Hatton Garden Jewellers. I had read all the reviews and done research on HGJ so knew what to expect. There was no shop front and we were buzzed up to the workshop which was far more relaxing for us in that environment!
Vince was great, he is a mastor of what he does and has a great team working with him. Vince took on our instruction along with our budget and gave us a number of options, we immediately knew we wanted to choose Vince to create the ring. We made a number of follow up appointments to choose our stones, we were talked through the quality v price and learnt alot in our visit.
Vince takes so much pride in his work and will make sure you are 100% happy with your jewellery. We are already looking forward to returning for our wedding bands! Thank you Vince!Written 30 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
