Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- GertieGertLondon, UK229 contributions……. however, what I’m not so keen on is the wokeness (not my choice of word but hey!) on the life & times of Hans Sloane. Instead of focusing on the huge positives like only charging £5 pa for the lease of this garden for perpetuity and the fact he left his massive collections to the general public (split into different museums) for free visits for ever… how he promoted cures for different ailments etc etc, no. The main focus seemed to be that there were slaves in the countries he worked in and how they were employed where he worked and they were used as labour AS were British people. Now, a LOT of countries had slaves too, not just “us” even African to African slaves, so yes this should be mentioned but please also enlighten the public on Sloane’s MAJOR plus points too! So I massively enjoyed the garden, the fab guide & EVERYTHING except the woke side of things!Written 1 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NoraatcSudbury, MA39,242 contributionsI never expected Saatchi gallery to be so interesting. It is not for everyone, those who don’t like modern paintings can easily skip it, but I was greatly impressed by the variety of styles, themes and bright invigorating color palette of some painters. The real revelation was the Room with the View exhibit on the second floor. The works of Aida Mahmudova are really out of the ordinary: her technique is placing natural materials (tree branches, dry leaves, various minerals, like blue and white quartz, in beautiful whimsical displays of different moods and emotions. Stunning!Written 15 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- A Midlife AdventureDursley, UK2,766 contributionsMixed feelings. We arrived at about 1230 and stayed until 730 pm. Having never been before I wasn’t sure what to expect.
Negatives:
The crowds are definitely a big issue. It was like stepping into an army of ants on the march, go with the flow or enter a battle!
The food outlets were predominantly over priced (£10-£15 for two coffees and one cake!!) and if you brought a picnic with you there was nowhere to eat it as the designated area had flooded on the first two days
Complete lack of seating areas. Personally I think the RHS could sacrifice some of the shopping outlets in favour of customer comfort
The show gardens, which was one of the main attractions for me, are really hard to view and appreciate as again there are so many people all trying to view the same thing. Additionally even when you do manage to hit the front you cannot photograph any garden in its entirety because of the rope barriers in your way. It means you have to sort of work your way around each garden which needless to say this takes time!
Gardening enthusiasts join the RHS and I have to say the benefits are fantastic but this seemed to be almost constructed solely for the upper classes. Us everyday folk, looking at the reviews, may never return
Positives:
The Great Pavilion was magnificent. The chosen vendors were knowledgeable, friendly and more than helpful throughout and there were some lovely displays etc
The balcony/ container garden area added another dimension to the show
The brochure being available in advance was useful to plan our day, as beginners to the show although I do agree that £15 is a little steep!Written 11 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We paid £6 for a Souvenir Guide book, and got to go into go into the Hidden Objects Exhibition, the young person I came with tried on some uniform and helmets. The 3 staff members in there (pictured), were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, as were the other staff in there.
This is definitely worth a visit for young and old. We were there for about 3.5 hours, but could've spent longer there.Written 7 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was a very clean, bright and modern area. There was plenty of nice restaurants and plenty of good shops which all allowed us to come in with our dog which was great.Written 11 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sunshine6676 contributionsBrought my mum and my autie son to see this exhibition. Enjoyed it very much. Would have liked to have seen more but the way it was laid out meant I could take through the exhibits with my son and ensure he could see them all. He was impressed and learned a lot. A lovely collection.Written 17 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- gfsc5Perth, Australia1,787 contributionsThis is a department store that plays with convention. There aren't many such stores I know of where one is greeted by bedding and the odd bbq on the entrance floor. And having menswear adjacent to perfumes and makeup. Most intriguing.
I spent time in the menswear area. Some nice stuff but not a massive range from which to choose.
My wife is an avid shopper but finished womenswear in record time.
