The architectural layout and decorations give it an old-timey feel, almost like stepping back into the last century.
The screen quality is surprisingly good—clear and crisp, with great sound. However, for a truly immersive experience, it's not as effective as a more modern cinema because the ceilings and walls are painted white, which doesn't create that dark, enveloping atmosphere.
But if you're a movie enthusiast looking for a different experience now and then, or if you want to make a special outing, it's worth a visit. - J K107 contributionsI didn't plan to watch a movie at the Prince Charles; I was walking through Chinatown one morning last October, when I saw the cinema's daily lineup posted outside. Not only were they screening a nonstop marathon of some of the best horror movies of the 80s and 90s, they also had a 12PM showing for Perfect Blue, one of Satoshi Kon's finest films.
My partner and I put aside our afternoon plans to attend, and I'm thrilled we did. We got to see a great movie at an excellent venue that isn't afraid to screen cult favorites over modern blockbusters. Best are the films and plays they offer regularly to the public in the most wonderful little theatre I have ever been. The founders of Sands are not only very dedicated but very talented. Much better than any Harry Potter studios visit, said my daughter. To me it is a magical place where time doesn't exist. - Dee Gee3 contributionsWhy am I sitting here watching Venom with the lights on! I dare'nt approach the staff, they are soooooo unfriendly and unhelpful! Oh....wait....it appears, someone has gone to complain, at time of writing this 17:46, film started around 17:15ish the lights have just gone off.
The rows between seats are so narrow, I dare'nt disturb the other patrons to go buy more goodies or go to the bathroom....wow!

- SKALondonLondon, UK3,018 contributionsWe’ve used the bar when in the area. Although busy outside it wasn’t busy as we weren’t there before a film started.
We recently used some of the free tickets that came with the membership - do check it out. As there were two of us we booked a sofa. Comfortable with plenty of legroom.
Access to the members bar was welcome - quieter and we got a seat which wasn’t possible in the other bars as our film was at peak evening time. You can take drinks in.
If you need to use a lift I’d suggest contacting them in advance. The one we took down from screen 3 didn’t go all the way down and we took stairs from the first floor to exit.

Food was fresh, good variety and we really enjoyed the film experience. Staff were helpful too.
My one ask would be, please ensure that you have desserts for customers with nut allergies. When I said that my sons had allergies, I was told that the desserts were not suitable. The picture and the sound is truly remarkable whilst the seats are very comfy.
