Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- S1PRADACali, Colombia394 contributionsI am not sure about going inside but the walk round trip is worth it. Really short and allows beautiful pictures. A bit complicated to get to it from the Tower because sometimes there is a closed barrierWritten 14 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - nowpackingDallas, TX4,478 contributionsStunning views in summer and freezing views in winter!!!
Walk across the suspension bridge to visit the Tate Modern from St Paul’s Cathedral. Opened in 2000, the stunning bridge is a photographers dream!Written 2 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Traversing the bridge is simple enough and it does not have grand features to view. However, it is a great spot for taking pictures of Tower Bridge and London at night. A must-visit for tourists.Written 23 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Peter RDartford, UK1,382 contributionsOne of the many busy bridges that crosses the Thames in central London. On the north side you have the Palace of Westminster and Big Ben and to the south the London Eye and the old County Hall building, now a Marriott hotel.Written 28 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BradHong Kong, China182,315 contributionsThis is an important bridge crossing of the Thames linking The City (north) to South Bank (south). Designed by Joseph Cubitt in 1869 to replace an earlier 18th-century bridge, it features nine semi-elliptical stone arches. The bridge is for vehicle and foot traffic. I've enjoyed walking over the Blackfriars Bridge numerous times over the years. It is an enjoyable way to cross the river if while sightseeing around this area of the city.Written 13 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - OZS_ATWBudapest, Hungary4,381 contributionsSouthwark Bridge an arch bridge in London, for traffic linking the district of Southwark and the City across the River Thames.
You can take nice photo of it from the Millennium Bridge.Written 25 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. An experience to cross it by foot and you get lovely views on it from Battersea bridge.Written 9 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Steve HUnited Kingdom2,309 contributionsOne of the many Thames bridges in London. Perfect for tourists visiting Covent garden or entry to The Strand and equally excellent for those going to the South of the Thames to explore the riverside up to the new Battersea Power Station or in the opposite direction to Tower Bridge, both options offer you an amazing stroll along the River Thames and so many tourist stops but equally and historical tour of old London!!!. Other bridges offer easy access back across the river, you need a few days to explore!!!!. 100% check out Battersea Power Station an amazing refurb and a London landmark, Borough market, etc etc etc. Its a gateway to all the wonderful sites of London located on the south of the Thames!!!Written 25 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - I visited this place🇺🇸🇬🇧🇫🇷🇳🇱🇨đź‡Israel38,318 contributionsPROS
* Interesting structure with wire-like spikes
* Prime location providing grand views in both directions
* Pedestrian only
CONS
It can be crowded
"I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... because it was there when I was walking from Houses of Parliament and Westminster Bridge towards the Tate Modern Museum. I came across it, so I went up and walked on it, but continued my journey on the side side of the River Thames.
WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
It is free
WOULD "I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN?
If I was walking here again, I would take a photo of it for tripadisor and walk onto it

While there we enjoyed seeking out both the bridges ( the fan bridge is a minute away ) after watching them in action on you tube.Written 18 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SmartDamoCostessey, UK5,739 contributionsUsed the bridge multiple times during the coronation weekend staying in the Novotel hotel. It’s not as grand as the Westminster bridge but the view down the Thames and of the Parliament and Lambeth Palace are a treat. It’s also less busy than it’s neighbouring bridge.Written 10 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- leuveenLondon, UK1,349 contributionsI really like this bridge, which is open for pedestrians and cyclists only - a beautiful, quiet place which lets you cross the river and enjoy the views. The bridge itself is beautiful - hopefully it will be repaired but kept closed for cars.Written 12 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
