- JV10711 contributionsI bought this Hertiage beer tour for my wife for a Christmas present. After the tour she said it was the best present I had bought her in 20 years.
John's enthusiasm for the brewery and it's history made for a very interesting and entertaining tour in which we learnt of the extensive history of the brewery and saw some of the historical artefacts in a part of the original brewery. Sambooks have a real treasure in John. Well worth doing.

I Mike was such a lovely host, talked us through a wide range of beers, and had the answers to all our questions. Even came with a little cheese plate which was perfect! They were very accommodating with a last minute change of booking as well which we appreciate! Both were nice although I wouldn't have been able to drink much more of the stout. - Michael F9 contributionsI visited the Kernal Brewery twice over a five day trip with family in November. This being my first trip to the brewery, I had no idea what to expect. The new space (I never saw the old space) was beautiful, minimalist. Concrete, wood - just gorgeous. A simple beer list of approximately 20 beers was available. Over the two visits, I probably tried all of them via 5 oz pours. All would fall into the very good to world-class categories, with special nods to the table beer, the foeder, the variety of Australian hopped ales they had during the week (Nelson, Nectaron) and pretty much any of the stouts.
What separated this place from most any other brewery I've been to (even world-class breweries) was the staff. Russell and Maritz/Merrit (didn't catch the spelling - sorry) treated me incredibly well. They were both incredibly informative and passionate about the company they were a part of and the beer they were making. The place has an incredible ethos, seemingly quite comfortable and confident in what they were doing. Refreshing, as everyone else seems to want to become the "next big thing", both in terms of unsustainable growth or inappropriate styles.
I haven't experienced every beer ever made, but I've been to hundreds of breweries, including many of the world's top 50. This was one of the greatest tasting room experiences I've ever had, up there with Hill Farmstead, The Alchemist, Jester King, Avery, and Hair of the Dog. Helen was a really good host and very knowledgeable and happy to spend time talking to us with questions we had. Beers tasted great, favourite being the Helles. Its a hidden gem. Has a great beer garden which we bet is even better in summer. Has a large selection of food stalls from around the world. We will be sure to return again. - theboygdsLondon, UK1 contributionAbout 15-20 mins of chat about the beer ..but let’s be honest you don’t go to a pub to do a tour you go to drink beer !....then the paddles of ale started to arrive (3rds not pints) and they kept coming, giving all in my part of 11 plenty of opportunities to find an ale they liked, then a few more paddles to make sure !! When the ale was flowing the food started to arrive....absolutely perfect beer munchies...far too numerous and varied to list....just don’t eat before you go in !!
I’m short the Temple Brew house was an excellent way to start a gentleman’s stag do, lots of beer and food = good value for money. Staff are really friendly and knowledgeable, prices are good and the beer is fresh and of high quality.
