Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful beach. Great to walk when the tides out. Eagle souring adds a great dimension to the environment. Be aware of the tide schedule as it is a large change.

Long Beach is famous for its long stretches of sandy beaches, dramatic shoreline, and powerful surf. It's a popular spot for surfing, beachcombing, and taking in beautiful sunsets. Visitors can stroll along the sandy shores, watch the crashing waves, and enjoy the coastal scenery.

this is a place where you can relax after a long term stress. you can breathe out all your stress pain and anxiety. Here, only you and the ocean before your eyes are real, Everything else doesn’t matter at all. It’s been a month since I have taken a break from my classes, works, and the only chance I have got, didn’t even think twice to have a long drive of 300km, just to visit this beach, and after a long, hectic journey I have made it here and it was worth it. Perfect place if you consider walking around, relaxing, surfing, sunbathing.

This is the first tim who I have been and The forest is so big and the wildlife is so dense. There used to be fewer bears, but now the population has increased considerably. The scenery is always splendid and so is the welcome.

We enjoyed a delicious drink at the end of a hike. There is an excellent range of beers and seating inside and outside. If you like stout the 'kelp stout' is marvellous. They also do taster flights, vans the staff are happy to discuss what's available. A range of glass sizes is on display so you can easily see which size drink you would like

If you like nature, mountains and water, you won’t get better than the UNESCO biosphere of Clayoquot Sound. Long settled by Americans, draft dodgers and Catholic priests, photos depict the First Nations on the West coast (Nuu-chah-Nulth Council Maaqtusiis from the area of Naciks or Ahousaht reserve) taken to several local historical Indian residential school sites. Cycling highway 4 or renting a car from Nanaimo airport offers a mountainous and scenic few hours’ driving stretch to Tofino, where a fishing vessel (G.I. Charles) or water taxi ride (Robinson’s Elsie Jay) can be prearranged from the government dock. To get to the Wellness Centre or Wild Side Trail on Ahousaht Nation’s Flores Island, pack food or ask someone knowledgeable of Ahousaht Fisheries about obtaining
local oysters, Halibut, salmon, red snapper, copper and cod fish. From Templar Channel /Clayoquot Sound’s waters you’ll spot whales, otters, or grazing black bears around Vancouver Island. Riding by Pacific swells at the sandy stretch near Esowesta Reserve and Casiiwa (tsa-shii-wa) Incinerator Rock at Long Beach (24-hour info. 250-726-3604) there are park washrooms; and past the Botanical Garden you can stop at shops. Seaman Luke Robinson of ElsieJay has everything you need to know if heading to destinations in and around Tofino. Rhino Cafe offers great coffee and a washroom stop in the town. Just outside Nanaimo on the way to Port Alberni, there’s an information centre on the South side of highway 4 with free restroom access and picnic tables. Further on, you can pick up smoked salmon at Tom Watts’ home and buy his cookbook during another stop West of Port Alberni. If staying at Tofino, you can also catch a boat to Flores’ skateboard park or Hot Springs, and enjoy a kayak excursion. You’ll be entranced by magical Clayoquot Sound, where the Pacific Northwest drew explorers over three centuries. It’s a beautiful place that’s full of marine adventures to die for.

I am always in awe when visiting Henry Roy Vickers Art Gallery in Tofino, and in fact consider it a main reason to visit here! The structure is stunning, the interior is quiet and reflective, the art is amazing, and the gift shop is well-stocked with knowledgeable staff. During this visit I was able to meet the Gallery Director, Dale Morrow, a lovely young lady who was a real pleasure to speak with. I recommend 100% that you visit here, and best of all the admission is free!

The trail is steep in places but a lot of it is boardwalk. Great views once you get down to the beach.

Great place to watch the waves, sound of the roaring ocean wave after wave. Lots of surfers, tidal pools at low tide. Nice beach to sit and chill or build sandcastles with kids. Lots of room for dogs and kids to run amuck!

walked up the Tonquin Trail from Tofino village and did all 3 beaches. The first (Tonquin Beach) was truly stunning, appearing out of nowhere like a hidden little gem. The second was just a rocky outspur, while the third (Middle Beach) was similar to the first. A lovely hike and some great views! It took us about an hour, maybe a bit more to do the whole thing.

This was a magical experience. Anna set up everything and was there personally to greet us. We were picked up by boat in Tofino harbor by Danny. After a 30 min boat trip, we toured the Ahousat village to learn all about their beautiful culture and see the amazing progress tourist is having in the community. We met a bunch of cute village pups too! We then hiked the trail. Even though it was raining, it was the most serene and gorgeous site. Be prepared for some tougher spots but overall an easy hike. Danny met us in Cow Bay and took us back to Tofino. You can hike back or camp that night and hike back in the morning. Either way... a must do!

Worth doing if you love trees and unique environments; which I do. Easy water taxi across with some wildlife watching and then a reflective stroll through the forest. The boardwalk is ok ( it’s hand made so be prepared for uneven steps, slippery conditions and the like) but the trail is fantastic. I was lost in my own world with some giants. If it has rained then be prepared to get wet from the vegetation; the trail is a wild one but well marked.

A cross between a garden and forrest.
There is a small garden with flowers and plants but much of the site is forest with some sculptures.
    There are goats and chickens

It has a small gift shop and cafe.
Worth a visit, fun, lovely and a quiet respite.

This was tough but worth it! It took 2:30 up and about the same down. We have no hiking experience but fairly fit and able. Down was harder and a bit scary at times, we went fairly quickly with 1 stops and it still took as long to get down as up.
When we got to the top we couldn’t see a thing, too much cloud cover. 20mins later it was clear. Well worth the hike for the view.
The ground was very boggy at the bottom and slippery then going into a steep incline holding roots to help pull us up. Quite the adventure!
