First of all we have been whale watching before off Monterrey and were very lucky to see many whales, so to compare is a bit unfair. We did see a couple of whales on this trip and sea lions and appreciate you can't change nature but it seemed a long and expensive bumpy ride for a couple of glimpses of whales. The staff were great, but the captains commentary was drowned out by the engine noise and was a waste of time.
We came a long way for the trip and were left slightly underwhelmed.

Fantastic experience with Jazz our captain, loved it from start to finish! Jazz was so knowledgeable and passionate and we loved our time on board especially seeing the killer whales, bald eagle, seals and ‘rafts’ of sea otters, a truly memorable trip.
Also looked after by the lovely girl in the office who was very helpful getting us set up.

We did a whale watching tour and at that time there was a group of orca’s around so Riley the captain followed them for a while so we could see the orca’s traveling. Then we saw a bear on the shore waited there so we could take some pictures. Then we went to the lighthouse area and saw some seals and a couple of sea otters. It was a hreat trip, well worth the money.

Tofino is beautiful place and after the float plane tour the day before which was awesome we set off with west coast aquatic tour to see some black bears.

After looking for a while and sailing around the islands coast lines at low tide they didn’t disappoint and we saw a black bear over turning rocks looking for a seafood lunch.

Then to top it off we heard a few black bears around a cove we visited earlier so we went over to see a mother and her 3 cubs which we watched and followed as they walked around the coastline looking for lunch and the mother teaching her cubs well.

Full tour was amazing, great friendly and knowledgeable crew and also provided us with disability parking and assistance.
Thanks so much and if he longer would have done the Whale tour with you too.

We did two brilliant tours here, first a black bear watching one with Eamonn where we saw two mother bears and five cubs. The tour was fun and safe and really interesting. The next day we did a sea kayak with Peter, JJ and Sol. This was great fun with close encounters with eagles and a great walk through old growth rain forest. The guides were super knowledgeable and helpful as well as friendly and fun. Neither of us are experienced kayakers but we felt safe and in control at all times!

Our family of 8 recently went Bear Watching with Ahous Adventures. Our experience was fantastic! We saw a handful of bears and even got lucky with a visit from a pod of orcas.

Our captain, Richard, was incredible. He was a true host as he guided us through the area and shared stories and songs from his family and the Ahousaht culture. We loved the experience and would absolutely recommend Ahous to anyone in Tofino looking to get out on the water to see some wildlife!

All you really need to know, up front at least, is that the whale watching adventure tour offered at Tofino Resort and Marina Marine Adventure Centre is nothing short of being a SPECTACULAR EXPERIENCE. You should feel free to book this now with no hesitation whatsoever. The bottom line is that we saw several grey whales and oddly enough that is not even what stands out the most in my recollection.

Instead, I am most impressed by the warm, personal, customized service that I received from the very first inquiry into availability until disembarkation from the White Raven vessel which ultimately proved to be worthy of the choppy seas that we encountered in our quest to rendez-vous with the cetaceans. Somehow, Jill knew that the perfect tour for me would be the Whale Watching Adventure and she booked me into it efficiently. Bridget somehow knew that I would fit into a Medium-sized float suit while I insisted that I would require an extra large one. Somehow, she deduced that I preferred to leave some valuables on dry-land in safekeeping with her, rather than to take them with me onto the open-water. Somehow, she knew that I had interest in the outfitter's fleet of boats and she took the time to explain to me which adventure each one of the ships was best-suited for. Bridget also insisted that I wear a float suit even though it was t-shirt weather on the dock. Suffice it to say that these folks have been doing this for a while now and it certainly shows. While I had dressed in layers and even brought several additional ones with me, I was highly unprepared for what was to come. The Adventure Centre recognized that without making me feel like the novice that I am and geared me up with everything that I could possibly have needed. Brilliant!

The other component of the trip that really stands out is the attitude and skill of our Captain, David. He, too, has been in this game for a while now, apparently a decade, and this is pretty significant given the extremely transient nature of resort communities. From the outset, David instilled confidence in each and every one of his passengers. He also demonstrated flexibility and showed a great willingness to accommodate the preferences of everyone on the boat. So rather than take an old-fashioned mass-production approach where everyone gets the same cookie-cutter experience, David achieved mass customization. He deviated significantly from the usual route to satisfy the desires of those who wanted to see marine animals other than whales. So, after we connected with the grey whales near Long Beach, we went to a completely different area to gawk at sea lions and otters and seals that had migrated all the way from California. He also explained why these animals were where they were and gave us much insight into marine ecosystems. I must say that this gentleman is not only a wonderful guide and interpreter, he also sure does know how to navigate through the tricky waters in the area. I was in awe of some of his manoeuvres (not a typo-i checked this) especially when we were in shallow water.

You know what, though? The trip is so scenic that I probably would not have been fussed even if we hadn't come across any wildlife along our route. The vantage point on the water offers unparalleled views. I caught myself looking upwards and sideways and being just as much in awe of the mountains and of the forests as I was of the whales and seals.

Too often, we only put pen-to-paper when we are angry and need the world to know about it. I think that not often enough do we give credit to those who do it right. So, in this case, where individuals within the organization are exceptional at what they do, I just knew that I had to fire up the laptop to offer some well-deserved accolades. Thank you so much Tofino Resort and Marina Adventure Centre Crew for an afternoon of a lifetime. ABSOLUTE CHAMPIONS! If you had a Season's Pass option, I would certainly be first in line to purchase one.

My husband and I booked a trip with Adam for his birthday and our baby moon! This was a bucket list item for both of us, and it definitely did not disappoint!!

We told our captain Mickey that we wanted to catch halibut and salmon, and he went out of his way to try and accommodate that even though we were quite late into the season for those types of fish. After no luck with the halibut (but still an amazing morning on the water and fishing), he took us over to a great spot to make sure we didn’t come up empty handed and got some cod. We ended up maxing out our cod limits and catching numerous rock fish as well.

Overall the communication with Adam was incredible. He made sure we had the best possible day and held two days aside so we could decide last minute based on conditions. He was attentive, answered all questions very quickly and amazing customer service.

Our guide, Mickey, was super knowledgeable, gave great advice and helped us immensely, and answered our never ending questions.

Overall an absolutely incredible day, and we look forward to coming back and doing this again soon!

Skookum invited my partner and I out on his boat as we were walking around the dock after a wee yarn. He showed us around the bays and found whales right on sunset. Made our 5month Canada trip. Couldn't believe the generosity and kindness he showed us! Highly recommend!

Had the best experience on a full day charter with my friends! We caught lots of salmon and Brody was extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife, surrounding area and ecosystem as a whole. As a group of friends we got to enjoy our own music, hang in the sun and catch fish! We will be doing many more trips with Brody. :)

We had a great morning tour out bear watching! Initially we weren’t sure it would even happen with the thick fog but Eugene took us out and we saw 6 separate bears, some very close! He was a friendly guide and told us about his experience in the area and about the small first nations family business. It was a nice group size with only 8 people fitting on the boat and a proper metal hulled boat so we didn’t come close to seasick.

Would definitely tour with them again!
