Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our stay was unforgettable. Our impeccably clean, well-appointed, comfortable room had an astounding view and, if I did nothing else in Tofino, I would have been happy to take advantage of my front row seat watching the sea lions and otters glide just beyond our deck, the bald eagles swoop overhead, and the sea planes land and take off beyond the dock below. What a way to experience morning coffee or an evening glass of wine! I am an experienced traveler, and this view was one of my all-time favorites. The kitchenette meant we did not have to eat all of our meals at restaurants and enjoy the view all the better for it.

We looked at a lot of other places (this was a special trip for us)–some of which seemed a lot more flashy for one reason or another. However, we wanted to make sure our $$’s supported the local First Nation people. I am so glad we chose the House of Himwitsa as I think an airbnb with a view of the ocean is something available in many locals and can’t compare with the vibrant life we were privileged to experience from our room at this lodge.

The owner of the Himwitsa is also the hereditary chief of the Nuu-Chah-Nulth people. I was lucky enough to speak to him and was so impressed by his generous, kind spirit. It is not for me to report on our conversation’s details, but I felt so privileged to have learned something of his story and that of his people–a very, very cool guy.

If you do stay here, we also loved the trip to the hotsprings we booked from Ahous Adventures–the only First Nations/Indigenous owned and tour operation in town. We had a great experience with them: the boat driver was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond for us to catch glimpses of whales and other sea life. And, because Ahous is also owned by First Nation local people, if you go on the first tour, you will have the hot springs to yourself before the other tour groups arrive. It was a win-win-win!

I have been to a LOT of bookstores and this gem may be my favorite. They had so many great titles both for adults and for children. So many classic books my daughters and I have read. I could have perused all day. Stop by if you're a reader!

Nice little store on Main St. in Tofino. A real character manning the store April 8th during the afternoon when we visited. Talked lots, told us stories, explained different products. A lot of fun to talk to and made selection easy.
Bought salmon belly, peppered and natural salmon strips, and lox for $26 total. Loved it, all delicious!!
Recommend visiting and pick some up to snack on in your lodging, you won't be disappointed.

I always love coming into Merge! One of my favourite shops in town for sure. This small business has an inviting boho ambiance with well made and local items that all have unique character and matches the essence of Tofino. Staff is always so lovely too. Alex and Sigrid have helped me out numerous times and really show the depth of their product knowledge. Everything's better when you know the people care about it <3

We decided to get married last minute and Jessica went out of her way to help us. She helped me with a dress and matching bra, and called another store for my now husband to check if they could help him. Tofino friendliness at its finest.

I would definitely spend a whole day in storm. All the staff is so friendly and if you ask for anything they know what to show you. I WISH I COULD LIVE IN THERE. 🏄‍♂️ Thanks Allister, I love ❤️ my new board. It's exactly what I wanted - thanks for listening.

This store is worth checking out if you’re looking for a unique Tofino tee or a locally made product that is practical and usually affordable. Mostly every item I came across is made in Canada!

Cool branding and great customer service!

This is the spot for take home treasures!

I was looking for budget (less than $20) souvenir in Tofino and Ucluelet area, which turned out to be challenging. I did find some cute knitted keychains at Image West and nifty gifts such as smudge kit with local sea shells at The Wreckage in Ucluelet.
(There were some good Merrell walking shoes on sale but ran out of some sizes at Tofino Fishing & Trading Company).

I went to the Botanical Garden in Tofino and enjoyed the atmospheric stroll through the trails and the amicable hens. There were some adorable baby chicks there as well.

It turned out there was a clothing store called Tofino Life Clothing on Campbell Street that sells personalized T shirts! There wasn't noticeable advertisement outside the store; I just happened to stroll through the store and saw the big printer, and clued in that they could print my trip photo image onto a T shirt for me. Sherry, the staff, was friendly and said that the T shirt can be picked up on the same day. Since I had a canoe trip in the afternoon, I asked if I could arrange to pick up the next day morning. The next day, I picked up from Dee, another friendly staff, and the shirt only cost $10. That's one of the best and most affordable souvenir to get in Tofino.

I had a great time at the Browning Pass black bear tour and the T'ashii cultural canoeing big tree trail Meares Island tour as well.

Afternoon of casual strolling in Tofino, we went to a few shop but the vide was not there. As soon as I entered this store the energy was so positive ! The staff member was excellent and extremely helpful.

I purchased a beautiful green sea glass earrings. She was also helpful in recommending a local stop eat dinner. Must go when visiting Tofino.

This is a tiny shop next to art galleries on the Main Street in Tofino. The owner is very talkative and you can discover lots of things about Tofino if you take the time to stop in and talk with him. We purchase a Larimar pendant and earrings and a piece of his Polish blown glassware.

Horrible service! A friend of mine and I went here. just as we came up to the counter she said she wanted us to hurry up and leave so she could get a coffee. Then she calculated how much my friend owed incorrectly and made her pay twice. Then Proceeded to blame us for her mistake. So rude and awful!
