Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Your eyes won’t believe the believe that surrounds you. Truly one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen. The drive is easy, hardest part is having to keep focused on the road and not want to stop every 5 minutes to take pictures.

I’m so glad this was one of the opportunities to stop and look at. It was absolutely beautiful. The paths were Accessible To all and head washrooms available. Friendly ravens in parking lot to greet you looking for snacks.

Amazing, beautiful and powerful all at the same time, don’t forget to look for fossil shells in the rocks. Can be slippery but most ages can walk the paths, just don’t wear loose or shoes with no grip

This is truly a unique experience but, with that said it is also a very long day. The driving, the waiting, the shuttles and the number of people will all tire and stress you out. You do not spend much time on the ice which proved to be about an 8-hour day from Banff. If you able maybe catch this on your way in or out of your trip, possibly even coming in the night before and staying at the lodge and getting up on the ice first thing.

We booked last minute for the first tram of the day and we’re glad we did. Don’t expect to turn up and get on one, they are packed! What you need to realise is that there are only 2 gondolas on action so the number of people is very restricted.

However! The lower number of people means that there aren’t hordes stomping around the mountain! We chose a sunny morning, and as it was mid June there was still snow at the top when we did the walk up to the summit. It was definitely winter clothing weather.

The views from the top of Jasper and the surrounding mountains are seriously impressive though. Just be prepared to book in advance and be squeezed into a gondola cheek by jowl with 20 other people.

A quick drive from Jasper proper, Pyramid and Patricia Lakes are good for a quick, but beautiful walk. So peaceful, you check out the surrounding mountains, the wonderful trees and breathe in the air. It’s rejuvenating!! Take some time, admire the surroundings, it’s so impressive!!

It’s been maybe 50 years since I’ve been to a planetarium. Very enjoyable way to spend an hour. Guide was excellent and very upbeat.

Truly a beautiful and awe inspiring experience. Seeing the destruction of the wild fires, really impacted the experience. Such a tragedy to see the forest ravaged by flames, but such hope in seeing the community banding together to cut down the burnt down trees to rebuild, to rejuvenate. Seeing elks on the Highway, in the forest was wonderful. I can’t recommend enough a visit on Highway 93A to have as a part of a “full” Jasper experience!&

After a tuck-in of poached eggs, whole wheat toast with butter and jam, Greek salad and hot coffee, Christian met me at the BRIGHT SPOT FAMILY RESTAURANT on Connaught Drive. It was raining. I changed into the rain pants that Sarah had lent me the day before. And Christian gave me hiking gaiters for the snow. And hiking poles. We headed down Highway 16 to Maligne Lake Road. We stopped to view an eagle perched just outside its nest. Then, on to Maligne Lake. On the way, Christian noticed a two-year-old bear and a silver fox. We also saw a mother bear with two cubs from the parking lot. And we met the Park Warden--Heidi! The hike on the Bald Hills Loop was exhilarating. We hiked through light snow up to where the snow from last winter had lingered--about a foot deep. We did not go all the way to the summit. Christian came equipped with waterproof foam sit pads. He tossed them down on the snow for lunch--with hot tea. I brought the maple cookies! On our way down, Christian and I made a snow-entity! After the hike, Christian took the time to show me Maligne Lake where he used to work as a guide on the boats. Then, we had a leisurely drive back to Jasper--and more coffee!! Merci splendidement Christian! AnnA

Really great ski hill overall! Lots of trails, though about 1/3 were closed when we went in Feb. Snow was mostly man made and ice patches. I hit quite a few unmarked rocks sticking out of the snow. My only real complaint was that if the runs got groomed then the whole experience would have been much better. We loved the views- as far as you can see in any direction are spectacular mountain vistas completely unaltered by humans. Food on the hill was basic but good and not overpriced. The RFID lift tickets worked really great- I bought the lift tickets online and showed my phone to a scanner on the hill and they printed off quickly. No waiting in line - extremely efficient and we were on the chairlift 3 minutes after arriving. We went for two days mid-week in Feb and never once waited in line for a ski lift or for food- this was one of my favourite things about Marmot- it’s a great hill but still quiet. I imagine weekends are surely busier but mid-week was so awesome . Loved it a lot and will be back 100%

This hour loop was fantastic, beautiful views and wildlife. You could just do the lookout part and not the loop. To get to the lookout there’s quite a few stairs and is quite steep so some fitness is required. You can stop wherever you like but if you want to go all the way to the top you will be rewarded with spectacular views of Jasper

We were not pleased with our room, "Partial View of Lake" It was very musty smelling. The room was a nice size and clean. Towels need replaced. We did tell the front desk and they apologized, and we should asked to be moved but didn't. That was our only negative experience. All staff members were amazing! Very friendly and helpful. The main hotel, lobby and restaurant was beautiful. Food was fantastic! The grounds are very nice (some construction going on) and spectacular views!! We would return, but would stay in the main lodge. We are now at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, AMAZING!

We hiked Opal Hills by Maligne Lake May 13 and there was still lots of snow, but we went in early am and it was crusted over so you could manage fine with just cleats. (You have to trek across the snow bound parking section that isn't plowed to reach the trail head.)

Go into this thinking that it's really steep and you'll be fine. It's pretty steep! And in the trees most of the way. We didn't do the loop due to avalanche risk, instead we went up to the lake lookout point 650m total elevation gain and back the same way. Take right trail fork. Lots of moose/elk tracks, also possibly wolf tracks as there are no dogs allowed (much larger than coyote prints.) Spectacular views on a clear day. No one else seen on trail on a Friday morning.

Would also like to see it in a summer setting as well.

    Such a fun evening.
You are encouraged to have a drink at the bar and chat to the actors before the show begins. They are extremely welcoming and love to chat to their audience.
The show is hilarious and you recognise and are familiar with each sketch as you’ve been doing exactly the same things throughout your time in Jasper.
The warmth for this beautiful town is clear throughout their performance - who doesn’t LOVE Jasper?

I want to acknowledge Pursuit Pass for refunding my “non-refundable” Lake Maligne Cruise tickets. l’d had to remove Jasper from my itinerary due to the fires. It took some insistence on my part, but PP did the right thing.
