Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- CVDPhotography20 contributionsI’m so glad this was one of the opportunities to stop and look at. It was absolutely beautiful. The paths were Accessible To all and head washrooms available. - StuartMt Eliza, Australia42 contributionsAmazing, beautiful and powerful all at the same time, don’t forget to look for fossil shells in the rocks. Can be slippery but most ages can walk the paths, just don’t wear loose or shoes with no gripWritten 20 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tdsuperstarToronto, Canada19,708 contributionsA quick drive from Jasper proper, Pyramid and Patricia Lakes are good for a quick, but beautiful walk. So peaceful, you check out the surrounding mountains, the wonderful trees and breathe in the air. It’s rejuvenating!! Take some time, admire the surroundings, it’s so impressive!!Written 7 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tdsuperstarToronto, Canada19,708 contributionsTruly a beautiful and awe inspiring experience. Seeing the destruction of the wild fires, really impacted the experience. Such a tragedy to see the forest ravaged by flames, but such hope in seeing the community banding together to cut down the burnt down trees to rebuild, to rejuvenate. Seeing elks on the Highway, in the forest was wonderful. I can’t recommend enough a visit on Highway 93A to have as a part of a “full” Jasper experience!&Written 11 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tdsuperstarToronto, Canada19,708 contributionsI was at the Jasper Information Centre a couple of days after it reopened due to the wildfires. It is such a great building that was thankfully spared, quite literally by feet, from the natural disaster. The people inside just seemed to be happy that Jasper was slowly returning to normal. Sharing their experience and plight, it was a sobering look at the ravages of climate change and how it impacts communities. It was great to get an insider's point of view in this great building. The taxidermized animals were cool, but may not be for everyone. No visit to Jasper would be complete with a quick look around the Information Centre!Written 7 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anna GUrnieta, Spain7 contributionsAfter a tuck-in of poached eggs, whole wheat toast with butter and jam, Greek salad and hot coffee, Christian met me at the BRIGHT SPOT FAMILY RESTAURANT on Connaught Drive. It was raining. I changed into the rain pants that Sarah had lent me the day before. And Christian gave me hiking gaiters for the snow. And hiking poles. We headed down Highway 16 to Maligne Lake Road. We stopped to view an eagle perched just outside its nest. Then, on to Maligne Lake. On the way, Christian noticed a two-year-old bear and a silver fox. We also saw a mother bear with two cubs from the parking lot. And we met the Park Warden--Heidi! The hike on the Bald Hills Loop was exhilarating. We hiked through light snow up to where the snow from last winter had lingered--about a foot deep. We did not go all the way to the summit. Christian came equipped with waterproof foam sit pads. He tossed them down on the snow for lunch--with hot tea. I brought the maple cookies! On our way down, Christian and I made a snow-entity! After the hike, Christian took the time to show me Maligne Lake where he used to work as a guide on the boats. Then, we had a leisurely drive back to Jasper--and more coffee!! Merci splendidement Christian! AnnAWritten 9 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kevin LTiny, Canada387 contributionsVery nice views of jasper area a short drive from downtown Jasper. It is on the way to the Fairmont if you are going to see it. You can just take the stairs up to see some nice views. - tdsuperstarToronto, Canada19,708 contributionsA beautiful, simple building that has some history in Jasper. Jasper Station had Queen Elizabeth visit even before she was Queen. Right now, with many of the buildings in Jasper still under repair, the washrooms are accessible for those still visiting. The history of the importance of the railway to the growth of the West is seen in ads and displays. The Jasper Station is worth a quick stop to take in history!Written 13 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We did part of this trail, on maps it's called 'Discover our Wild Side' Trail which is just the part at te back of the town. We wanted a short-ish walk to enjoy the surroundings of this lovely town. Whether we were naive to the surrounding area believing being close enough to town was enough OR lack of information in our accommodation OR failings in our research of the area - take bear spray - we did not and came face-to-face with a Grizzly Bear. (Luckily it didn't see us and was not interested). We were lulled into a false sense of security from the sheer number of cyclists and runners on the trail. Most terrifying experience of our lives.
The trail we did prior to this near-death experience was lovely though. Next time we visit (with bear spray) we will do the rest of the trail.Written 30 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Patricia14 contributionsIf you are tired of lakes then this provides an alternative. With views of the Athabasca River and surrounding mountains. Do the steep walk up first and then the alternative route down. If you are lucky you will see the goats at the top. We weren't but did see an elk on the way down.Written 29 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- KellyNagle553 contributionsWe hiked Opal Hills by Maligne Lake May 13 and there was still lots of snow, but we went in early am and it was crusted over so you could manage fine with just cleats. (You have to trek across the snow bound parking section that isn't plowed to reach the trail head.)
Go into this thinking that it's really steep and you'll be fine. It's pretty steep! And in the trees most of the way. We didn't do the loop due to avalanche risk, instead we went up to the lake lookout point 650m total elevation gain and back the same way. Take right trail fork. Lots of moose/elk tracks, also possibly wolf tracks as there are no dogs allowed (much larger than coyote prints.) Spectacular views on a clear day. No one else seen on trail on a Friday morning.
Would also like to see it in a summer setting as well.Written 19 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - OnAnotherJourneyCanada327 contributionsExcellent non-profit place for quality souvenirs that also supports the park. We purchased items from local authors/artists and plan to return before our trip’s end to get a ball cap and shirt we had our eyes on.Written 16 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
