Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise in Oct 2023 with Capt. Aaron and tour guide Dan. The views are stunning and the history Dan shared with us, particularly about Spirit Island, were things we hadn’t heard anywhere else. The drive to Maligne Lake is beautiful and the gift shop and waffle & gelato snack shop were added bonuses while we awaited our scheduled tour.

We spent six days in Jasper. We planned for three days here, then were to travel to Saskatoon by train and spend three days. A train derailment caused us to stay in Jasper a bit more and then travel through Saskatoon on to Toronto. the folks in Jasper were nice and the three extra days here allowed us to see and do more. The train trip was good, also.

Unfortunately the exact trip we did isn't on TA, so I'm reviewing part of it! We did the Icefields Parkway tour from Jasper, and although the tour went further, we got off at Lake Louise. The whole experience was excellent. I'm a wheelchair user, and our driver Colin, and guide Maria, were superb. Nothing was too much trouble. It's a great itinerary, and I confess we had thought of it as a useful means to get to Lake Louise from Banff, but it turned out to be one of the highlights of our Canada trip.
This part of the tour, the Icefield tour was surreal and fascinating. Bring sensible shoes as you will be walking on a glacier - it's very slippery underfoot and of course it's cold! After our buffet lunch (not bad!) at the Discovery Centre and the ice explorer trip, we visited the Skywalk, and despite both suffering from vertigo, we both managed the walk. It was worth it! I thoroughly recommend Brewster.

We had a fun and informative evening with the planetarium and telescope. Unfortunately the clouds meant we couldn’t see a lot but they did offer a free return visit when it isn’t cloudy! Staff were knowledgeable and gave interesting talks and information. Our 10 year old son loved it.

Perfect. Well organized. Not strenuous. This was very good for our group of family members. There are washrooms near the pick up point which allowed us to conveniently change into bathing suits

What a great way to spend a morning!

We booked through Maligne tours as we had very little time in Jasper and we wanted to see as much as we could. The company did not disappoint! Our guide, Sam, took us to some really cool locations which were off the beaten track. He was absolutely fantastic and is obviously really knowledgable and passionate about what he does, he used the short time available to share his knowledge of both the flora and fauna of Jasper as well as some history of the area which left us all feeling a lot more educated.

The tour itself was awesome, we managed to see some massive elk as well as a bald eagle and an osprey.

All in all it was a great morning and one that I would recommend to anyone visiting the area! Thanks again Sam!

Jeff was our very knowledgeable and friendly guide. So much to see and do but we still had some flexibility such as stopping by the road to photograph the wildlife.
    Just a very special tour.

Brad was our driver and he was very personable and knowledgeable, and made it a fun day. Alijah was hostess. She is new with the company, but was an absolute delight. Very enthusiastic. And we saw numerous bears, elks and even a hoary marmot. A very pleasant day, beautiful scenery, and good food at the lunch buffet.

We only had a couple of days in Jasper and decided to go on the wildlife discovery trip. Stephen, the guide, was very knowledgable about the animals and where they might be found. He drove to Medicine and Maligne Lakes where we saw bald eagles and moose tracks, but no moose. We also saw elk, big horned sheep and a coyote while travelling there.

The tour itself was fantastic. Saw lots of wildlife and great photographs. The negative was that between TripAdvisor and Sundog their was a disconnect. Sundog did not have us on their pickup list! Their website had a list of pickup locations but the Fairmount Jasper Lodge wasn't on it. Their was a blank to fill in your location. I called Sundog before our trip and they said they pick up their. When the driver came to pick up guests we we not on the list because we went through TripAdvisor. Suggest never using trip advisor and call them directly. Sundog saw my papers and let us get on but we were lucky. I've had same issue with TripAdvisor in Italy 2019. I will nit use TripAdvisor again! Good job Sundog.

Our driver Rob picked us up from our hotel on time and drove us back to the shop. We had a great laugh with Rob and Coleen while dressing in leathers for the bike tour. We were given "hot vests" that plugged into the bike and kept us warm. We had chosen a three hour trip and told Rob we wanted to visit Mt Edith Cavell (which we had seen but not previously visited) and we left the remaining time for Rob to take us to recommend places we would not have been before and were off the tourist track. We're 70 and 66 years old and had never ridden on a Harley Davidson before, but we never felt anything but safe . One of us got into the sidecar and the other sat behind the driver. We could swap places as and when we wished. What a thrill! About 2km on the road up Mt Edith Cavell we were confronted by a huge Bull Elk who had no intention of letting us pass him. Rob took command and eventually the Elk disappeared into the forest. Rob found a stream running from a glacier and we drank the purest and most delicious water we have ever tasted. We moved on and visited various lakes and photo spots. All too soon it was time to return to the shop. Rob was a knowledgeable guide and a really great guy as well. We laughed a lot! We loved our holiday in the Canadian Rockies and there were so many highlights; this tour most certainly was one of the best. We would definitely recommend the tour to our friends without any hesitation. Thanks Rob and Coleen for a truly exhilarating and memorable day.

Special thanks to Lisa our tour guide and Robert our "captain". Lisa kept us organized and on scheduled. Robert got us safely to our destinations. You guys rock!

I would have given Westar 5 stars (took 1 star off) because of the "dump" motel Forest Park accomodations in Jasper and the "minivan" that we shuttled around in on our last day (cramped, uncomfortable, little leg room, difficult to enter/exit).
