Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

These falls, just 30kms south of Jasper, were so picturesque! I absolutely loved them. There was a large volume of water when we were there in September. Clear, paved paths, with some steps, led to viewing areas at the top, middle and base of the falls. It was interesting to view the falls from these different angles, especially the canyon, potholes and downstream flow. It's about a 1 km out-and-back trail (15mins), but allow more time for admiring the scenery and taking photos! Athabasca Falls may not be famous for height or width, but the volume of water and background of forests and mountains create a stunning setting for these gorgeous falls. There were toilet facilities at the car park.

One of the most incredible places I have ever seen in my life. The canyon is so deep and the river and waterfalls are so stunning. I didn’t want to leave.

Ben did a awesome job driving us to the glacier. I would recommend, it was once in a life time experience. It was much better then even expected. Everyone working here was so kind.

Quick and easy to get to, these lakes are worth a visit if you are in Jasper. They are just a few kilometres along Pyramid Lake Road to the north of the township. Subalpine forests and rocky mountain peaks create a stunning background for these two beautiful lakes. The reflection of Pyramid Mountain in the waters of Patricia Lake is a photo worth snapping! The highlight of Pyramid Lake is a walk across the bridge to Pyramid Island. The lakes are a hub for a variety of recreational activities including camping, picnicking, hiking, boating, and swimming.

I was at Marmot Basin on Friday skiing mid mountain. Love Marmot for the runs and the warm friendly staff and patrons. That is until I ran into Joey, a ski instructor with snow school on Basin run. His customer service was appalling. Joey was instructing a group of about 10 people and did not care that he was rude to people outside his group. I would not recommend taking lessons from Joey. The ski hill is lovely and the majority of staff are great, friendly, personable and wonderful to deal with.

Very nice views of jasper area a short drive from downtown Jasper. It is on the way to the Fairmont if you are going to see it. You can just take the stairs up to see some nice views. Great place to watch sunset or sunrise

This is perhaps the best view of/around Maligne Lake; however, you have to work for it! The trail up is incessant and much of it is on a gravel road. Do not take the shortcut on the way up - leave it for the way down!

If you are tired of lakes then this provides an alternative. With views of the Athabasca River and surrounding mountains. Do the steep walk up first and then the alternative route down. If you are lucky you will see the goats at the top. We weren't but did see an elk on the way down.

We hiked Opal Hills by Maligne Lake May 13 and there was still lots of snow, but we went in early am and it was crusted over so you could manage fine with just cleats. (You have to trek across the snow bound parking section that isn't plowed to reach the trail head.)

Go into this thinking that it's really steep and you'll be fine. It's pretty steep! And in the trees most of the way. We didn't do the loop due to avalanche risk, instead we went up to the lake lookout point 650m total elevation gain and back the same way. Take right trail fork. Lots of moose/elk tracks, also possibly wolf tracks as there are no dogs allowed (much larger than coyote prints.) Spectacular views on a clear day. No one else seen on trail on a Friday morning.

Would also like to see it in a summer setting as well.

In Jasper National Park, there are many trails. But not so many in the Jasper town area. But there is one that’s nice, The Discovery Trail. This is a long trail that encircles the town. Branching off of the trail are other trails that go off into the forest for varying distances. The Discovery Trail begins just off the back of the Hotel parking lot. We took it. Actually it was better than I anticipated. I thought it would be a rather flat trail just off various parking lots. Nope. The Trail went further back into the hillside than I anticipated. Actually in places out of sight of town. And there was more elevation change (both up and down) than expected. A really nice trail.

Great shop, fantastic crew that will give suggestions based on your ability. Jasper is the best mountain biking in the popular areas of the Canadian Rockies. Be sure to note they are not at the address above, but about a block east in a small shop front. Excellent maintained Kona bikes, very fair price. Cannot recommend them enough.

Great park! We always love stopping here when we come to Jasper. There is a nice playground for the kids. They have picnic tables and a bathroom. There is a baseball field and another huge field to play sports in. It is also fully fenced to keep animals out.

A friend of ours recommended us this trail because we liked hiking. But as we saw online, it's only about 3.2 miles but has more than 2,000 feet of elevation! We wore hiking boots and each of our family members had a hiking pole. The way up is a lot easier than the way down, so beware of your knees. Also look for the red dots nailed onto trees and ribbons tied onto them to make sure you're on the right track. We went with an 11-year-old and a 14-year-old and it was challenging (in the good way) so it would probably be pretty hard for younger children. If you love hiking, this is awesome! There are amazing views at the top and a book to sign, too. Note: If it's rainy, don't go! It's gonna be really slippery!

This is one of a number of one to four hour trail walks that start at the back of town. Maps and direction/information are available at Tourist Information Centre. I covered Mina,, Riley and Cottonwood Slough, approx eleven kilometres which are well sign-posted.Started at 10am and took about 3.5hours ... only met three others during that time. Walking was relatively easy, after an initial steepish climb ... became a little muddy towards the end as the ground started to thaw. The lakes are beautiful and you have them to yourself ... transport not needed ... very peaceful.
