... are ski lifts) There is a well marked path and the walk is stunning, lots of wild flowers, beautiful views of surrounding mountains, picture postcard lakes - one of the best walks we did in Jasper or Banff parks.

Tunnel Mountain Trail

Great hike, short walk from town to trailhead, very sparse traffic therefore a wonderful break from the congested trails and attractions in Banff National Park.
You can easily walk from town (go up the gravel path at the end of Caribou St.), park at the slightly higher trailhead, or take a bus from downtown.

The views were breathtaking of the mountains, different colours of water at every turn, waterfalls, glaciers, snow covered peaks, and many viewing points to stop at...all just for entry into the park.
It has stunning views and you feel right in the midst of nature as you cruise down this lovely parkway, I guess it was the wrong time for wildlife sightings but the beautiful snowlined road was stunning.

Vermilion Lakes
#8 of 28 Nature & Parks in Banff
If you are driving eastwards from Lake Louise, a convenient car park just before one of the Banff exits gives you a great panorama with of course the silhouette of Imposing Mount Rundle in the background.
