We headed over to Rainbow Beach midweek after seeing how busy it was on the weekend. That was a great choice to get a table at this super beachside restaurant with a big menu. You'll definitely find something delicious on it. One of the best lunch choices on the whole island!

The Best Day trip Ever on the “Renegade”, Full day with a friend to Buck Island, which has a World-class White Beach with Chrystal Clear Turquoise Waters and Great Snorkeling ! Followed by a short sail trip to another beach for a rustic lunch, “Pirates Atmosphere” with “Rum-Punch” under an old Sail for shade.
Great Crew, very attentive, helpful, proactive and Safety Conscious!
    Thank you Bigbeards!

    Point Udall

If you are looking for solitude, amazing views, exercise, fresh air and water – don’t miss this place.

We drove there from the Buccaneer Resort (took about 30 minutes) and the drive was amazing. Not much traffic and great views (just watch out for the potholes that could swallow a car whole.

We went mid-morning during the work week day and had the point all to ourselves. The views from up on top there are stunning.

When they say there is no shade, they mean it. Plenty of water, sunblock and a hat are in order.

A must do while you are in St. Croix.

A truly unexpected gem to find on the island. Truly amazing sea shell museum and orchid society exhibit. Offered a great learning and gorgeous surroundings. We will include this in all our return trips as a must see.

This place has an amazing view and is located right on Rainbow Beach, making it super convenient if you enjoy having a drink on the beach. We just came for some lunch and drinks after a long morning of scuba diving. The service was great and the food was pretty good. I had the Mahi Tacos and they were delicious! My husband just had the hot dogs with cheese sauce. The atmosphere was really relaxed and there was a nice breeze coming through. Also, I highly recommend the blueberry lemonade, delicious and refreshing!

My family and I were very glad we went here.

You can park for free on the street beside or near the pier. That was easy enough the two days we were there (on days with no cruise ships).

Bring your own snorkel gear or rent it from one of the dive shops near the pier.

Walk to the waterfront on the left (south) side of the pier (i.e., the pier will be to your right as you look out to sea). There is a chain link fence along the waterfront. Look over it. There is a proper, professional set of concrete stairs down to the water. Between that proper staircase and the pier itself is a quite small and very informal staircase made out of stacked cinderblocks. That cinderblock staircase is where we entered the water. You''ll probably see other people getting in/out or snorkeling near there. There are some rocks along the shore, but there is a sufficiently clear path out to sea. We left our shoes on the rocks by the staircase (as did others) and they were still there when we got back.

We snorkeled about halfway down the left side of the pier. The coral formations on the pillars supporting the pier are great - and there is a good variety of fish. There are also some concrete mooring blocks just off the pier. Snorkel over to them to check out the coral growing on their support pillars as well.

The best thing for us was the sea turtles. There were tons of juvenile green sea turtles munching or resting on the bottom of the bay just off the pier. At a couple spots, one could float on the surface and see 5 or more turtles at the same time. Every few minutes, the turtles come to the surface to get some air - a good opportunity to see them closeup.

We enjoyed our first visit to the Fredericksted Pier enough that we made a second stop there just before we flew home (one of only a couple places we went to twice during our short stay in Fredericksted). It was raining at the time we got there, but the turtle-viewing was still good in the rain, so don't let a little rain deter you.

I highly recommend that you go on a tour. The Ranger does a great job of giving you information and it is much more interesting to take the tour than it is to just walk around find out a lot of information that you wouldn’t otherwise.

    Jack and Isaac Bay Preserve.

The parking for Jack and Isaac Preserve is free but there is only room for about 10 cars or so in the turnout area just below Point Udall. Everything is free – parking, hiking etc.

Make sure to have sneakers or hiking shoes (NO bare feet or flipflops or water shoes). The trail is not difficult at all and is fairly level with just some rolling inclines but it is rocky in spots.

When they say there is no shade, they mean it. Plenty of water, sunblock and a hat are in order.

As you hike down, there is a small beach that’s cool to check out but the second and third beaches are the main attraction. Stunning! Just stunning.

Because it actually takes some effort and time to get there, most people apparently avoid the area and you felt like you were alone on the island. Make sure to take plenty of pictures.

We loved it. Altogether, we were there for about 3.5hours but could have spent the day there.

It is not good for anyone with mobility issues and there are no facilities.

A must do while you are in St. Croix.

Beware of the hike to the tide pools, not for the feeble, but once you are there it is a magical place. Don't forget you have to hike back. Oh and wear proper sneakers for the trek.

Worth the visit! Beaches are beautiful and true to its name, sandy. Ergo, the sea floor in this area is sandy as well. Not a place for chaney or pirate glass. It is a great place for turtle nests which you will see as depressions in the sand. Bringing a shelter/tent and anchoring it with bags of sand on the beach is a thing. Due to the nests, it is illegal to dig or place posts into the sand. That is to say there is no shelter except what you bring yourself. Waves are stronger/not as calm as the water near the Cottages By the Sea, SandCastle on the Beach, or Dorsch Beach. And for the trivia buffs, this was the location for the final scene in the Shawshank Redemption where Tim Robbins is working on the boat as Morgan Freeman approaches.
