I love a good hike through rainforests, and this one was not disappointing. The trail is not difficult nor physically challenging, but can be a little slippery here and there. The rainforest vegetation is rich with species - although I did find it somewhat ironic that the most stunning specimens (ginger genus and orchids) are actually not native plants to the island. Never mind - they are still marvellous to look at for their natural beauty and contribute to the overall spectacle of the rainforest hike.

You can take a tour of the distillery for free and the shop where it's possible to taste some of the rums for free as well :)

A pleasant and convenient way to admire scenic Fort de France Bay and to join La Pointe du Bout or Les 3 Ilets. Ships are well maintained and the crew is efficient and attentive. Fair prices.

This beautiful building right in town just across from the park is a very special place. The attractive exterior will lure visitors to go inside especially on a hot sunny day. Other than books and displays, there are clean restrooms in the back. Free admission.

After flying into Lamentin Airport we rented a car through Autorent -Caraib, easy, no lines. Next drove to super marker for food for rental home and to get Sim Card so cell phone works on calls and can use 'French translator' app as it's needed! We stayed 2 nights nearby in Ft. St Louis NW area to see historic downtown on Sunday when less traffic. 4 lane highway around Ft St. Louis, 2 lane good roads on rest of island but traffic goes fast on roundabouts! We stayed 6 days south of Le Carbet, away from tourists and visited interesting St Pierre historic sites related to the volcanic eruption. Then drove to south end of island and stayed 6 nights on the beach at La Diamant. This is a lovely site, beach is usually empty, lots of parking, some strong waves, fun to play in or just take a chair to sit on the beach in the shade by the trees. Many bus tour beaches are very crowded this one is not. Locals speak little English and don't really chat much with visitors! Nice weather and some nice beaches.

We wandered in as the mass was coming to an end. It was nice to be able to participate at least for a few minutes. This church is very different comparing to the ones you see in Europe. Beautiful just the same.

It is important to know that here is where you can get tickets for tour of the fort in town. The Tourism kiosk is right at the corner of the park near the main road. They may be closed certain time when the staff takes people on tour. There are public toilets in the back across from the library. I would just use the ones inside the library instead. This is a huge park with the statue of Josephine and also another monument. Some shady benches along the park.

Online tickets were relatively easy to book, but ferry schedule changed to 2 hours later after booking. Recommend recheck schedule often. Check in process at Castries ferry terminal was a sweltering mess. Locals rudely cut in line. Check in starts 2 hours prior to departure. Get there early. Boarding was similar cattle car experience. Ferry itself was relatively clean and not too crowded on this day. Ride was relatively smooth thanks to calm seas. On time departure and arrival. Customs and immigration at FDF very slow.

This museum is about the Native Americans and others like the Amerindiens.

They covered mostly everything: mariage, children, tepees, bisons, religion, war, weapons, epidemies.

In one of the rooms, it was really attractive.
They covered also the Amerindians. The showed how they lived, happy with his family and friends.

    Worthwhile to see!

Worth a visit if you're interested in the history of slavery. Well-kept displays over two floors, and friendly guides to show you the way around. We liked it and it was only four Euros entry.

Our guide knew really well this museum. He xplained everything in details. We learned a lot.

However, no pictures can be taken inside. However, it was free to visit.

    He learned from Pere Pinchon.

They have 10 00 pieces of books, butterflies, birds, skeletons

I liked that guide, that was ready to answer any questions.

When we were finished, we went outside, as we could take some pictures.

    It was worthwhile to see!
