What travellers are saying
- Joseph PPhoenix, AZ6 contributionsWe enjoyed the calmer waters, and small piece of beach. Wasn’t crowded at all. The woman that rents the chairs and umbrellas, and her daughters, were a delight!Written 21 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kim MTopsail Island, NC110 contributionsThis is such a beautiful part of the island and the docents were some of the friendliest and helpful people we met. The beach and boardwalk are incredibly scenic, breathtaking really. Sadly, just like South Florida, the coral has been bleached by high sea surface temperatures. It is still worth a snorkel. There are many beautiful fish but we are taking a sad toll on the planet.Written 14 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David R2 contributionsI attended the Sunday 9:15 service and enjoyed the service very much. As an Anglican I felt at home with the service. The clergy and parishioners were very welcoming to the visitors and I would certainly attend again if the opportunity arises. When I travel I make an effort to attend church services as they are more interesting than just touring a church building.Written 2 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LunnwoodsBarbados3 contributionsPleasant day on the beach in quite a touristy area but with that comes the nicer amenities. Food & Drink options available at a variety of price points however worth noting that some are cash only. Very comfortable beach chairs available from Rico's on the beach with friendly and helpful staff. Good views of sunset available as located on west coast.
There is no parking available however we were able to park at the Fairmont Hotel and as an alternative option.
If you enjoy water sports there are jet skis available, inflatables and a diving platform. Beach is noted for snorkling and turtle sightings however we didn't see any on our visit this time.
Typical caribbean sea calm waters was were great for swimming. All in all a great day at the beach.Written 5 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - joLondon, UK3 contributionsGo and see Simone and family for lunch. She didn’t have what we felt like eating so went home to cook it. You wouldn’t get service like that in Sandy lane. - RicochanNew York390 contributionsI hired a taxi driver for airport transfers and a full-day island tour when I was in Barbados. He took me to the Chattel Village branch of Best of Barbados Gift Shop, where they sold genuine Barbados products, not the ones made overseas. He was right. I got a bag full of Barbados souvenirs. The next day, I went back to Holetown for the Holetown Festival and bought another bag of mostly items with Jill Walker paintings on them from the same store. A few days later, before I flew back home, I saw Best of Barbados Gift Shop in the airport lounge area. The prices were the same as the Chattel Village store, not higher like some airports. I bought more souvenirs at the airport. This shop is a must-visit. There are several locations on the island, including the cruise terminal.Written 7 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
