The gardens were gorgeous even after a month long drought with a huge display of grasses and flowers still in bloom all in a landscape offering wonderful long views and with the Dovecote always there on the hill.
To be able to visit the current stunning exhibition of Frinks is very special but the site alone is marvelous.

you can only climb up to see the view on saturdays and sundays, but still a great place to be.

What an incredible estate, with a great and fascinating house to view, fantastic grounds to walk around with views to die for.
The temple of Apollo, the pantheon and the grotto with the view onto the lake are all marvellous and if you want a chilled quiet walk with friends and family i can thoroughly recommend Stourhead!
