Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was more of a spontaneous ride for us but it was worth it. The trolley's fare is $1 per passenger and there is a donation box if you feel generous. We did not do the whole ride so unsure how much time it would take to complete the ride. I would say around an hour. The trolley runs at the edge of the Columbia River, it is an enjoyable scenery. The trolley is in good condition and clean, with no smell. There is two person (sorry forgot their names; one of them was Frank if I remember correctly) running the trolley, one of them drives and another gentleman provides information about different landmarks that comes in the way. They were wonderful. They also have some decently priced souvenirs inside which you can purchase with cash on your way out. I would recommend that it is definitely a must if you are in Astoria for the first time.

The kind of personalized tour that is rare to find. I had one day. He ticked all my boxes: Local oysters, quirky sites, natural beauty, local stories. 6 hours of happy. Made me want to cone back. A few memorable pics.

We have not seen the time pass. Great ride with Richard which is very accommodating and also warm and friendly. Don’t hesitate to call him!

It's really, really nice to be able to get a ride all the way from home to PDX - the one aspect that makes me keep trying to use the service. However, of my 3-4 attempts, only one has worked out. It was great getting a ride all the way there, even though it did seem at the time that it worked out against all odds.

if you make a reservation online, I'd suggest confirming it by phone. I made one this last week, but they ended up having no record of it. Good thing I called to verify, but then found they didn't have any room anyway.

If you do call, be prepared for what can only be likened to having a conversation under water with someone - It literally sounds like you're talking with someone at the bottom of a swimming pool. And it was revealing that my call this last week was a near perfect reproduction of the sound effects of my call 5 years or so ago.

I think I'm resolved at this point that if I want any kind of assurance that my ride to PDX will work out, i need to drive to the valley for it - flights are just too expensive to leave the trip there up to chance.

Besides the many personnel issues mentioned in other reviews, these guys desperately need to invest in some tech. I was impressed that there was a new website, but ran into its shortcomings in the very first try. And how about a new phone? (no, it's not mine - the audio quality is exclusive to this number). With the service I did use from Albany, I was running late and they actually gave me a call 5 minutes before departure to see if I was coming!

I'd actually pay these guys twice what they currently charge for the coast to PDX trip - but only if I could really count on it .

This streetcar runs Saturday and Sunday, May 27th- September 30th from 11 AM to 8PM. It has 14 stops but you can wave the car down anywhere along the streetcar route. They sell day passes for $5. A great way to get around town during the busy weekends. It was a lot of fun to see things we may have never seen. Go to website for more info and times...remember they may be later during the busy part of the day!!

    ENJOY
