Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- rickh57Woodburn, OR398 contributionsAn interesting museum. We've driven past it many times but never stopped.
We did a tour of the Columbia light ship, climbing down into the engine room.Written 10 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They have great touch pools. Octopus feedings, many hands on exhibits, again for for children and adults. We all (two adults and a 9 & 10 year old) enjoyed it a lot.Written 9 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Brandon KFlagstaff, AZ1,953 contributionsThe kids wanted to check this place out and I remembered it from 15+ years ago when I last visited here. We thought they might make their own floats after scouring the beaches for them unsuccessfully, but they found one the first night. No worries - they had their prize and we made paperweights instead. I went for a jellyfish paperweight as did my oldest daughter and my son made a swirly round paperweight. Our youngest wanted her own float, so she made one. The fact that my 9 year old was able to participate hands on and be happy with my not having to be in the middle was great. I got to actually enjoy making my own while the kids made theirs, each of us with our own coaches. The coaches gauged who could do what, so my 14 year old did a bit more hands on work than the younger two. I was given the chance to possibly mess up (but I didn't) since I was catching on quickly. We all came away with a great time and a thing to take home to tell other people about our trip, which we made.Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Connie J12 contributionsIt was interesting walking through the open air museum and looking at all the logging equipment up close. Worth a stop for some get-out-and-stretch-your-legs time. Take a little time and enjoy.
Good food and friendly folks next door at the restaurant.Written 23 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. As a frequent flyer, I appreciated the TWA exhibit of the 1973 luxury plane in all its artistic splendor. The WWII bunker exhibit was particularly moving. Do take the time to watch the video in the tent and the film about the Hindenburg airship in the movie theater. Board the Guppy to experience a cargo airplane so large that it can house another airplane. I have been to other airplane museums and this one is unique. Plan to spend 1-2 hours there.Written 13 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Mary YNashville, TN68 contributionsWhat a lovely place! We were attending a family reunion in Depoe Bay when a nephew advised he saw this pottery place online. He collects mugs. Several of us jumped in the car with him to explore. So glad we did. Friendly staff, wide selection and good prices. After returning to the reunion and displaying our finds the next day another group from our party went to see. A good time was had by all.Written 5 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- 2rollonCalifornia522 contributionsFriend and I stopped in to take a look around and we were highly impressed. The artist was in the process of making a vase and as he worked he let us know what he was doing and why. The small shop had many nice and beautiful thing at reasonable prices. He will teach you how to make an item or custom make an item you want. We would have had him make us a custom piece, but it needed time to set and we need to leave early the next day. It’s high on our bucket list to do next time we are in Lincoln city.Written 20 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Andrea RPortland, OR239 contributionsThis place is amazing! Lots of finished shiny rocks and cool fossils. Need Dino poop as a joke? There is so much to see, and lots you can touch. In the lower part of the store, you can "pan for rock goodies." Looks like a fun activity for Jr Rockhounds in the making. Lovely jewelry, too.
Go have fun, enjoy your visit.

She brings her unique and extensive marine biology knowledge to these trips. Friendly and caring. She wants to make sure everyone has a great experience. Her assistant Waylon is great! - Weary Traveler9 contributionsArt made from collected trash with educational panels. The creative energy put into this display puts a spotlight on the plastic contamination of our seas. I would recommend it for all ages.Written 7 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- nowwhereissheAustin, TX86 contributionsThis is a small and humble museum but enjoyable just the same. The price is very affordable and we ended up buying a bundle package to see other attractions. If you are a movie fan in general, but especially a Goonie, you will enjoy your visit. If you are looking for a mega millions state of the art museum, this isn't it. I was amazed to learn there are so many movies filmed in Oregon and Astoria. Lots of photo opportunities and a chance to make your own movies too!Written 4 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - pnwthomas169 contributionsIt's older and a bit dated now. Expensive to see all that is offered and doesn't take long to go through. Reading is a huge deal here and some displays cheesy. Kids might find it fun but the older adult may think it's a waste of money.Written 15 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WALTER SBALTIMORE170 contributionsVery much worth a visit. The owner/artists do a great job of explaining things. The glass works available for sale are impressive.Written 24 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
