Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

When we pulled into the parking lot and got out of the car we immediately saw six California Condors in the air just downstream from the bridge. When we walked out on the old bridge we were able to observe four more perched (one was playing with a piece of rope) under the bridges. This is a beautiful way to see the upper end of the Grand Canyon and the last place to drive across the river until the Hoover Dam.

This is a nice break spot. It's the last stop on the bus route on the West Road. There are bathrooms (glorified outhouses). The outpost is pretty cool and has a little gift shop, even with location specific items for Hermit's Rest. There are also snacks and drinks available. There are some nice benches that are covered and a photo op arch to see.

The canyon view from there is just average (if a Grand Canyon could be considered average), but it was definitely a stop you will want to make for bathrooms and a rest.

Shoshone Point was truly a hidden gem. Inside Grand Canyon National Park but far away from the crowds. We GPS’d to a small parking lot. The hike was mellow, through mostly shaded trails, pretty flat, and brings you to a breathtaking viewpoint over the Grand Canyon. Definitely a great option if the steep trails are difficult for you!

This is a small souvenir shop with access to a view point in the back. The shop keepers are friendly and helpful, and one can find find great small gifts there. Do miss this little shop.

The public areas of the Kold Studio are very interesting and informative. But, for a really special experience, you need to take the Tour. Our guide, Ramy was exceptionally talented and informative. The tour takes you through the family residence of the building which comprises an additional 2 floors of the building. The residence is populated with furnishings and fixtures from the years when the Kolb family was living and working in the canyon. Their story is one of perseverance, hard work, adventure, and love. I guarantee that you will not regret the time spent!

This trail was oddly enough my favorite trail we did during our trip to the Grand Canyon. It had incredible history, a few gorgeous viewpoints, and was actually pretty fun with the various rock segments on display. It's also a great trail to do with kids as it's maybe the safest trail in Arizona :)

This is a very pretty overlook on the Cape Royal drive and definitely worth the stop. There were very few people here when we stopped off. There are also some ancient ruins nearby.

The staff was sooooo helpful! They have us advice on hiking the bright angel trail in the snow which was extremely useful. We didn’t get the staff member’s name, but they knew their stuff there (hiked 16 miles in 6 hours!!!!)

This area is blocked off and closed during the Government Shutdown.

We have been here previously and you can walk around some interesting ruins outside and there is a small shop and museum which are worth a visit.

This is where I found a t-shirt that I actually liked. They have an extensive collection of Native American items, clothes, a good selection of books, and a nice children's area. It's worth a stop.

Dinning option in GCV is limited. The restaurants at the lodgings are expensive. If you want some pre-packaged snacks for mid to long range hikes, you can pick up some affordable snacks here.

Decent gift shop with some great history in a historic building. Worth a stop in to have a look and maybe a souvenir.
