Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

When we pulled into the parking lot and got out of the car we immediately saw six California Condors in the air just downstream from the bridge. When we walked out on the old bridge we were able to observe four more perched (one was playing with a piece of rope) under the bridges. This is a beautiful way to see the upper end of the Grand Canyon and the last place to drive across the river until the Hoover Dam.

This is a nice break spot. It's the last stop on the bus route on the West Road. There are bathrooms (glorified outhouses). The outpost is pretty cool and has a little gift shop, even with location specific items for Hermit's Rest. There are also snacks and drinks available. There are some nice benches that are covered and a photo op arch to see.

The canyon view from there is just average (if a Grand Canyon could be considered average), but it was definitely a stop you will want to make for bathrooms and a rest.

We did not take the train, but did check out the depot and the train on display. Eventually, the train arrived and we took some pictures. It's a nice change of pace.

Ok this is a great thin to send your young kids to find as you walk from Hopi House to Bright Angle trail Head. It is a cool little thing that highlights if their is a will their is a way. (0 % of the people walk right buy is and never know it is their.
"The Grand Canyon's first Trans-Canyon telephone line was built in 1934-35 by Civilion Conservation Corps. to span the canyon. Below the ledge past the plaque is one of the poles".
Enjoy the obscure Historic place and tip your hat to what you had to do before their were cell phones to make a call!!
