Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The view is epic, but it is also the busiest as it is the closest overlook to the main parking area. It is the first canyon view for the majority of the people coming to the park. Get on a bus and spread out a bit to see the different overlooks. It's all amazing.

This was one of our early morning stops after we saw a sunrise. The view is grand for sure. We also walked down the Grandview Trail just a bit to see what it was like. It would be an amazing hike. This is one location I would make sure you stop at.

Excellent view. You get a glimpse of the Colorado River. I'm pretty sure this is the location were you can see some of the rapids and you can actually hear them. We walked the Rim Trail over to Powell, which is a short walk. Excellent stop.

We’ve done a lot of overlooks of the canyon, stopping at every shuttle stop including the Hermit road, but the Yaki Point ended up being the one that we preferred.
Accessible only via shuttle (the orange one), there isn’t 1 billion cars that could disturb your visit.
I’ll let you see it by your eyes.

This was my favorite stop on the Desert View drive in Grand Canyon. I think it had the best overall views and was easily accessible to everyone.

This was one of my favorite overlooks. Honestly, they all sort of run together after some time passes, but this one sort of stood out. You get a good look at a section of the Colorado River from here and we watched some rafts move through that section. It's an amazing view.

One of the viewpoints located along the south rim of the canyon and dedicated to John Wesley Powell, whose expedition in 1869 was the first through the Grand Canyon.
There is a monument erected to Major Powell located at the point. As with all stops along the canyon this area affords spectacular views of the canyon.
This point can be accessed by walking, bicycle, or the free shuttle. The road is closed to private vehicular traffic.

This was an amazing experience! This remote area was not crowded with hundreds of tourists. Dreamland Safari Tours took my husband and I, and one other couple, it felt like a private tour. Andrea was our guide and she was awesome! This place is not easy to get to but Andrea got us there like a champ! Andrea was knowledgeable about the land, wildlife, and conservation. Andrea took great care of us and was even our photographer for the day! We highly recommend Dreamland Tours & Andrea, she rocked!

All of the overlooks start to run together. This one stands out because we could actually hear the rapids of the Colorado River in the distance. There is a section that you can see the rapids from here. I did not have a very strong zoom on the camera, but you can see them. I imagine this area offers an excellent sunset.

Shoshone Point was truly a hidden gem. Inside Grand Canyon National Park but far away from the crowds. We GPS’d to a small parking lot. The hike was mellow, through mostly shaded trails, pretty flat, and brings you to a breathtaking viewpoint over the Grand Canyon. Definitely a great option if the steep trails are difficult for you!

This trail was at the end of the Cape Royal road. It was worth the drive. The overlooks were beautiful - plus interesting landscape to look at along the way.

Guano Point is a separate part of the Skywalk West Rim Grand Canyon experience. You must enter the area through the official entrance building controlled by the Hualapai Tribe. The admission fee is around $65 dollars. That will provide you access to shuttle buses that transport people to the Skywalk and Guana Point. Guana Point provides a more panoramic view of the Grand Canyon gorge with the Colorado River clearly visible on one side and great scenic views on the other. You can hike to the top of some peaks to get more views of the area. With very few barriers, you can get fairly close to the edge as you take your photographs. The shuttle buses run frequently and will take you back to the entrance area.

We stopped here on our way out of the park to catch the sunset. A totally different view than by the visitors center, and a really breathtaking place to take in the sunset. We had to walk a bit away from the parking lot but that was perfect too. No guardrails

Looking right down into the canyon is quite amazing.
The Abyss is a point where you can stand next to the rim and look down. Worth the trouble getting there
