This hike was moderate, there was a big hill to hike near the start. Take lots of water and a hat. This is not a hike for little kids. There is a short part of the trail that has a cliff on one side, but two people can pass easily. It’s a busy trail but lots of space. There are a few places that it’s not clear but there are pink ties.

This is our 2nd trip to Arches national park and its still one of our top parks to see in America. We come over from the UK must years. The new timed entry worked well and it was a quick painless entry into the park. We stopped off at the 1st view point and had our coffee at 7am, taking it all in. On the scenic road through the park there are lots of view points to stop at and lots of short or long walks. If you can, come early as you avoid the huge crowds and get much nicer pictures of the arches. It gets very very hot so always have water and wear a hat. We love Arches and tell everyone you must go there and see how beautiful and stunning it is. A place truly touched by God.

so many trails leading to different arches. Devil's Garden has the largest parking lot but was also the busiest area in the Park. Be sure to bring water as there is no shade and you are hiking up and down on some trails.

May was great to see flowers in bloom.

Wow! We did the self guided tour, and (purposely) got lost several times. Many nooks and crannies to explore and there is always something interesting around every corner. Amazing landscapes and challenging hiking, but well worth it. Should be a bucket list destination.

Following a very well maintained and marked trail, heavily trafficked, takes you to this delicate arch unusual in the park.

Double Arch is an absolutely amazing and very iconic arch. In my opinion, I would select Double Arch as a better icon for Utah than Delicate Arch. Moreover, the Delicate Arch trail is a dangerous and strenuous trail. Double Arch is accessible to just about anyone.

there are several different shaped arches in this area. Walks to each are reasonable short with a few uphill. Double Arch is the opposite side of the parking lot.

It's end of the Devils Garden Trail, it's big achievement for my family to reach to this point. Next Primitive Trail is too much for us.

Hopped in arches from the back and hiked around. They had some rock art and we saw a lot of interesting and beautiful rocks. There were a few fat lizards running around.

My son and I hiked out to Broken Arch after visiting Sand Dune Arch. If you're in the area, I suggest hiking to Broken Arch first and then visiting Sand Dune after where you can cool off and get refreshed. The hike to Broken Arch was level and easy, but it was 101° when we did it so it was a bit uncomfortable. There are some beautiful views along the hike and at the arch itself.

We only had one day to spend at Arches NP. We did a self guided audio tour and by the time we got to the Delicate Arch area about 5 hours in we had already hiked/walked about 7 miles. We were tired and hot (101° day) and didn't want to hike the long trail to the arch. We chose to walk the Upper Delicate Arch Viewpoint trail instead. This is a pretty difficult trail for the average hiker/walker. It starts out pretty easy and level and quickly gets steep and somewhat rocky. There are places where there are "stairs" which make it somewhat easier, but if you go, be prepared to be hiking/walking uphill most of the way. The trail doesn't take you very close to the Delicate Arch. As the title says, it's just a viewpoint.

Part of the Windows trail area, Turret Arch is another popular photo stop. Many folks were "playing" with the depth of field and "holding up" the arch. I was more interested in the play of shadow and light. Be sure to bring water on this hike. Even with the parking lot just a 2 or 3 tenths away, you can get pretty parched taking in this arch, the Windows and double arch across the parking lot and down the hill.

This is on the devil's garden loop. The views through it are beautiful - like looking through natural windows!
