The lady who was working there when we visited (4/8/19) told us a lot about the history of Jarrahdale, we had no idea what a pivotal place it used to be for the railways. - AlbanyRickAlbany, Australia2,006 contributionsI've been here a few years ago and enjoyed a short walk in the bush, but the whole place has been completely revamped since I was last here. The main entrance is now via Nettleton Rd, and is paved all the way in, including a very large parking lot on the other side of the picnic area. The area has been developed for mountain biking, with lots of trails, and the place is obviously very popular, with dozens of vehicles in the parking lot, and many mountain bikers enjoying the cross country trails, including lots of families. The large picnic area has lots of picnic tables, but was largely deserted, and even though there are BBQ facilities here, I had the place to myself and could enjoy a couple of hours here. Easy parking in a dedicated car park at the head of the trail - although only a small park so limit to the number of cars that can park there.

Lots of nice paths for bikes / skates and play equipment is suitable for most ages plus a cricket area for older kids. Barbecue facilities are clean and working and plenty of shade. There is a clear return trail from the rock through the surrounding woods, which will take less then an hour. Lovely colours on different trees. The wattle was beautiful in full bloom.
