What travellers are saying
- Dream_travelerGudalur, India20 contributionsNice hike to the chembra peak, easy trekking and the view from the trekpoint is amazing. Stunning view of the Western Ghats and most of the tourist destinations in wayanad.Written 4 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Priyanka9987Mumbai, India333 contributionsHighly recommended trek/ walk and must visit places near Wayanad. The trek takes about 2.5 hrs with a 6-yr old. Takes 20mons till entry point, 40 mins for the uphill trek till the highest point and 20 mins downhill back to parking
The trek is steep but has many places to take a break, with greenery all around with great views. The view from the top is beautiful and the cave drawings are must see. Take the help of a guide to understand what they mean and they also take very good pics of you. Start early by 8-9am and be done by noon. Weekends are crowded with school and college groups..quite touristy entrance and a great place to shop for things back home in the form of banana chips chocolates eucalyptus oil and spicesWritten 26 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Also , best to arrive early and leave before maximum crowds reach here. One needs to climb down a bit to reach the waterfall. So conserve your energy for the way back up. Also, the entry ticket needs to be paid in cash and they expect exact change.Written 29 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mambally JKannur, India46 contributionsBreath taking view of the Thamarassery Churam is the attraction here. Being on a steep hill road, it has its own dangers to the viewers who are reckless and unmindful of the traffic.Written 18 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Surendran PChennai District, India182 contributionsA Nice Cute small waterfall falling from the top in to a small pool. You have to walk down through few steps in a muddy and rocky walkway. You can reach the bottom of the fall just by holding a single rope walking on a rocky slope’ which is uneven. But you can enjoy the fresh stream when you reach the bottom. Aged people can enjoy the falls from distance not getting down / Not risking. There are staffs available near the falls to help. Toilet facilities are available which is neat. You can enjoy lime soda at the shops, a must try.Written 26 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - niluanuChennai (Madras), India610 contributionsThis waterfall is located a short distance from Banasura Sagar Dam. Parking is available near the Forest Division ticket counter. You do need to walk some distance from the parking to reach the falls. The path is undulating and not in very good condition. You need to be very watchfulWritten 29 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Surendran PChennai District, India182 contributionsMajor Attraction at present is Zipline. Other amusement items are on the rise. You have a well maintained garden . - Prity AgrawalBengaluru, India151 contributionsThe tea garden trek followed by the stream and finally to the Banasura hill view trek is a quick 1-1.5 hr trek organised by Banasura Hill resort but it’s worth trying if you want to experience everything about the nature in such a short time.Written 15 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DipuKVPune, India2,669 contributionsThe dam is breathtakingly beautiful, with superb greenery on one side & the sprawling water body on the other. - V Sridhar SBengaluru, India97 contributionsA bit away from the regular. The drive to the place is quite good. Once you reach, there is a car park ground and good rest rooms. Buy some tickets and off for the walk to the bamboo boats. The boats are operated by pulling around some ropes.
There is a good attempt to limit foot fall. Some 500 odd visitors a day (including the east and west entrance).
There is a small walking path with some swings on the way. A couple of bamboo bridges. The trees are labelled with the plant variety.
You then reach a clearing where rocks bridge the river stream. Folks wade knee deep to reach across the rocks and indulge in some photography.
More can be done to make it informative.Written 15 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Good place for some photography.
Boat rides - like at all venues - would be a longish wait. There is a small ice cream place. A park for kids - swings, slides, climbing setup.
No need of taking the short diversion just to visit the lake. However it may fit in if you have time to spare before or after the long climb up the lakkidi ghat section.Written 15 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
