Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent trail accesdible for everyone. The trail winds forest and beach settings. It is an excellent way to enjoy nature, wildlife and sea shore.

We were pleasantly surprised. Although we have visited Ucluelet many times we had never visited the aquarium. The sea life is gathered from the ocean around Ucluelet and is released and replenished regularly. Many of their fish tanks are open and visitors are allowed to touch the sea life. There is an amazing variety of sea life in the tanks! The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful.

Great walking paths absolutely loved it here. Great place to take photos, family friendly, toilets on site and park benches to sit on all through the walk!

beautiful beach with sea stacks and tidal pools. there is a clean outhouse at one end of the beach and a tap with running water (not sure if it is drinkable but good for washing your hands). If you are walking here you will need to go down a very long steep gravel road. this is not good for seniors or people with a stroller. However if you are staying in one of the lodges, they may give you a ride down and pick you up. bring a picnic lunch and water.

As always a great place to stop at when getting into an area for the first time. Very friendly and helpful and gave us some great ideas for what to do, and where and when to pay for the national Park. It is also surrounded by some fantastic trees.

Visited the hatchery hoping to see black bears, unfortunately we were a couple of weeks too early. We did get a fly past (twice) by a bald eagle. The hatchery is very informative and we learnt a lot about salmon. Dave is a very interesting character and he enjoyed sharing his knowledge with us which also included mushrooms, which he is very passionate about. Although it is free to visit they do ask for donations as they have very limited funding. We thought the hatchery was well worth the visit (even without the bears) and we were more than happy to make a contribution.

Pacific Rim Distilling (PRD) is a great family- run operation, which has as its one focus PLACE & it is located in the place of Ucluelet on Canada’s Wild West coast, where place is writ large wherever one looks.
This terrior-driven distillery is thus a perfect fit for this singular ocean village locals refer to as Ukee.
It is in a wondrous rain forest where much can be foraged for in the making of these botanical spirits from the surrounds.
Luke, who is the owner & a fourth generation distiller, has place — what the French have widely made known as terroir — as his guiding vision.
One can taste echoes of the spectacular surrounds in every sip of his crafted products.
    All are delicious.
I like the gin-based the most.
The range of crafted spirits PRD makes are available from its distillery on Forbes, which is centrally located in Ukee, just off the central street of Peninsula.
It is open mostly for sales just in the afternoon. PRD products are also available in many of the exciting bars & resto in Ukee itself, as well as
    more generally.
    Prices are good.
I come back each time to favorably review again & to buy another of its creatively crafted liquors.

We were very lucky to be there on a misty stormy day and the beach looked eerie but beautiful. The steps leading down to the beach are new and easy to access the beach.

We hiked to South Beach, right beside the visitor center. The building and views all around are wonderful, so I can only imagine hanging out on their porch would be grand. We enjoyed a brief ranger talk in the parking lot, and hope they can renovate and return this unit to service.

This gallery is so cool, and I can't recommend it enough. They have a great collection of wood carvings, paintings, prints, photos and other First Nations art. We learned the story of the origin of the gallery. The owner saw the First Nations' artists getting ripped off by other galleries who charged large commissions. So, he decided to create a First Nations supportive gallery and took out a loan to create his own gallery. The artists set their own rules here. Additionally, the owner will sit there doing his own carvings. Support this great local, independent business with great morals and pick up some cool art!

Magnificent views over this vast lake, the largest lake in Vancouver island, not easy to find a good spot, though there are a number of stopping places as you drive past. It went into operation in 1915 and is still going strong.

Stopped in on a rainy day with our little guys and the woman who was attending the touch tanks that day was just incredible. She was so great with the boys and they learned so much from her. Highly recommend checking this place out if you get the chance
