Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I flew down from Sydney to visit St Hugo and the Barossa for the first time.
We were mainly served by Federico who was very knowledgeable about St Hugo’s products, provided fantastic customer service, and had a knack for knowing what products would suit the specific customer.
We bought a few bottles of wine to be shipped directly to our home in Sydney which were all received the following week — simple and hassle-free.
We also had lunch at the onsite restaurant after our tasting, and the food was delicious.
Overall a fantastic experience. But take note that the customer parking area has no shade whatsoever, so your car will be roasting in the sun — be sure not to leave any wines in the car!

I just want to say a BIG thank you for getting your gorgeous wine delivered safely to my brother and sister-in-law in time for Christmas. They're thrilled to have received six bottles which I'm hoping will last them a while...but perhaps not. Haha!
    With love from the UK.

This was our favourite cellar door experience...a little off the beaten track although virtually opposite the Novotel resort...this small "real" cellar door had the most amazing fortified wines. Do not miss this. Thanks Janet

On our last visit to the Barossa in July 18 we visited the Keg Factory for the first time. It was an interesting visit and the person on site gave us a very descriptive overview of how the Factory Works and some of their products. Worth a visit.

Beautiful location and good wine tasting only reason not a 5 was it is a bit over commercialised and we preferred more of the boutique vineyards. However if time is short this is a way to view the whole wine path in a single stop

Recently I wrote a review on 1847 Wines (see below) and as you can see there were many issues with getting my wine delivered. I eventually was able to get in contact with 1847 Wines and it seems my order was either lost or damaged by Australia Post. That said, in correspondence with the team they have acknowledged that I should have received responses to my messages to be kept informed and they will ensure improvement in that area. This is a good response, so I have amended my review rating as I said in the original review - their wine is good.

    First review (early December 2022):

I must start by saying that the tasting session I had there with a group on 28 November 2022 was very informative and that the wines sampled were very nice. So nice that I ordered a case of their wines to be sent to Sydney. They debited the cost of that (approx $300) from my account on that day and now 11 days later I have heard nothing from them.

All I am asking for is a simple confirmation that my order has been dispatched plus a tracking number. Another winery visited on that same day, did this for me and that wine has been delivered.

I have left messages on the mobile number cited on their website. I have emailed them several times to ask if they can provide the above information and there has been no response at all.

I am now trying to contact the tour organiser who took us there to see if he can help.

My advice to you? If you like their wines, only purchase what you can take with you as their customer service beyond the tasting is appalling.

Beautiful location. Very friendly welcoming. Visiting from the UK. Booked in for a wine tasting. By far the best place in the Barossa Valley for this. I would recommend trying the cellar choice if you can. I hit upon an OLR Biodynamic Shiraz and by far it is was above anything else at many wineries we visited in Oz. Bought a bottle back to the UK and it is by far the best and smoothest Shiraz I have ever tasted. In fact it is the best bottle of wine I have ever had. So recommended and a limited release. Thank you JC. You always make everyone welcome and we adore your wines.

Had a remedial massage as part of a package with the Novotel and it was very enjoyable. The therapist Nicole administered the correct pressure that I asked for. My husband had a relaxing massage and said that was very good too. Definitely come back if I was staying here again!
