Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- FrankofileAdelaide, Australia38 contributionsWe were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed the experience. Nine holes are played twice if you want to play 18 holes. Considering the rain that has fallen the couse was in good condition. It’s a challenging walk but carts are also available if needed. There were lots of kangaroos and various birds around.Written 10 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GingerRose63Launceston, Australia646 contributionsLovely outlook from bistro restaurant. Lots to choose from on the menu. We chose whiting fillets and they were delicious. Relaxing sitting on the balcony overlooking the course. Partner then played a round of golf after lunch.Written 3 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- WorldTravla7Cairns, Australia8,638 contributionsWe came as a foursome and had lunch in the bistro overlooking the golf course. Our parents recommended Headland Park as they enjoy the food & come from time to time. We ordered iced coffees (I convinced dad & he enjoyed his) and we had different mains between us - beef burger (me), steak, crumbed seafood platter, etc. It was chilled and relaxing and had a bit of an oldies vibe on the day (My brother joked that it reminded him of a retirement village as most of the punters were seniors).Written 16 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MichaelSydney, Australia83 contributionsFun course, not overly difficult in parts, relatively flat and in good condition as we played just after fairways and greens had been punched and had recovered beautifully! Only (minor) criticism is pace of play / tee sheet organisation. We got around in just over 4.5 hours (acceptable!) but we were held up at every shot. Probably because it was “path only” strangely (bit of rain that morning but certainly dry as a bone by the time we played). We were booked for 11am but arrived at 9:30am for coffee etc. We easily could’ve been bumped a little earlier to get out ahead of multiple 4-ball social groups as well. Also a shame the driving range was out of order for maintenance. But a 4* review! All-in-all a lovely day and everyone we came across was very friendly. Staff and members all a delight. Always nice to turn up to courses and feel welcome! We will be back and am already looking forward to it.Written 23 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Harry MBrisbane, Australia188 contributionsAbsolutely beautiful location. The golf course is one to keep on your to play list if you’re visiting the Sunshine Coast. The course is picturesque set amongst rolling hills. You will be challenged with undulation, and thick grass if you miss the fairways. The greens were true and little slow, compared to the city courses. We liked it. The golf club had recently appointed a new golf pro Wayne Perske, who we got to have chat to, which was pretty cool. Definitely be back for another round.Written 5 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Greg P8 contributionsA great golf course. You think a Par 3 course is for juniors, but this one is a pleasant challenge. The course is beautifully maintained... - SoniaF816Sydney, Australia13 contributionsWe stayed in Caloundra for a golfing week. This course was close to the resort that we stayed in and would have wanted more rounds but hard to get one due to the club championship. We managed to join a Monday comp and although it was our first time we ended up with a decent result. Our playing partners who were members gave us enough information to manage our game. It was flat mostly with enough water hazards to challenge any golfer. I would come back to this course on my next trip to the Sunshine Coast.Written 25 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gerhard MQueensland, Australia4 contributionsI went there on the recommendation of a friend and to follow up on a golf lesson I had recently. The Trackmaster system they use here is excellent to tell you all about your golf swing and why the ball doesn't go where you want it to. The Pro, just wandering around looking to dish out advice is an unexpected bonus and Josh is super helpful.

The course was in good condition, greens and fairways top notch and layout challenging with all the water. That said, the operation here is a typical Palmer venture - except for the course, no investment in anything. The pro shop could hardly be called that. Only two types of balls, no tees, no sunscreen for purchase or use and obviously they haven’t let Garmin or Sureshot know the course layout as none of our watches worked. Only basic sandwiches in the cafe. No maps, tees in carts or GPS. If it wasn’t for our friends who have played here before, we wouldn’t have had a clue how to play the hole.Written 19 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Steve-70Townsville, Australia1,239 contributionsYou won’t be disappointed dropping in here at Cooroy for a hit - beautiful country track with trees, water, plenty of nice holes - don’t always need driver as some holes you need to put yourself in a certain area to approach the green - course always in great nick.Written 27 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RobynSLMelbourne, Australia181 contributionsGolden Beach Golf Club is situated on the beautiful 90 Mile Beach in Victoria, Australia. Come down and play a round or two. $10 green fees for non-members - all year round. Bar open on Club days and guests are always welcome. At $100 a year for full membership, this club has to be one of the best value-for-money sporting clubs around. Entirely voluntarily run by a friendly band of golfers and community members - you will be made most welcome at Golden Beach Golf Club. Abundant wildlife including resident kangaroos, wallabies and a myriad of birdlife make this course unique. No pretences, come as you are and just kick back and relax on the verandah and enjoy a coldie. Saturday morning competition for members and a "Chicken Run" comp every Friday arvo, starting at 2.30pm in Winter/Spring and 3.30pm in Summer months.Written 9 September 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jack the hack2 contributionsVery friendly staff , great price $33 for a cart and a round you are not going to get Royal Melbourne GC . Its a lovely course cut into the valleys lots of up and downs so a cart is recommended. Had good lies all day and the fairways are well grassed.
The Greens are small and their speed is very changeable from one hole to the next.
The fringes of the greens are the worst aspect they are a different grass to the green and trying to roll the ball on from off the fringe is pretty much a guess.
I liked it and my mates i played with who are self confessed hackers though it was just fine for them.
You get exactly what you pay for here and that is just fine for this course.Written 21 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Two dollars discount given for 18 holes which seemed ridiculous given the condition of the course. Much better options for golf in the area.Written 20 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
