Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Sarox210Townsville, Australia371 contributionsIt was a super rainy day that we decided to visit Australia Zoo. There were plenty of umbrellas and ponchos available to purchase and we made good use of them. All of the shows still went ahead and we still had a great time. We found the timing and locations of the various talks meant we had to skip past things a few times to make it to things and then had to backtrack later. The shuttle didn’t always align with these presentations either.
Some of the birds in the croceseum presentation didn’t want to venture out into the rain and the croc feeding seemed very limited compared to what we have seen at other northern zoos.
The lunch set up in the main cafe was self-serve and food was ready quickly which we found better than the Gold Coast theme parks.
The staff were friendly and informative and the map and facilities were outstanding. The animal enclosures were large and animals treated very well.Written 12 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our guide, Melva, was excellent and so knowledgeable, teaching us about all the different birds. We had many photo opportunities and were able to get some great shots. The aviaries were huge and birds well looked after. If you love birds this is must for your to do list. Even if you don't love birds I think you would still enjoy the tour. I'll be back for sure!Written 8 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Jessica3 contributionssuper busy, thoroughly enjoyed the food & browsing all the stalls. sometimes it can be a bit hard to move around with all the people but it is definitely worth visiting.
also it may be hard to find a park, i recommend taking the bus if available.Written 22 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Overboard ride is a boat ride where you follow the Gingerbread Man around the world spotting him in all the different locations. It is very well set up and we found it a lot of fun. From here we walked over to the train and took the took around the gardens where there is commentary on the history of ginger in Yandina. There are quite a few outlets around the park and while it is set up for families with young children us old folks enjoyed it too.Written 23 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sandie BMelbourne, Australia52 contributionsHighlight of Sunshine Coast trip. Please note this amazing reserve is open until 5.00pm.
The walk through the rainforest is full of outstanding flora and fauna. Look out for twisted vines around enormous tree trunks, ancient rainforest trees, padimelons , abundant bird life and tranquility at its best.
The cafe has delicious salads, cakes etcWritten 7 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lots of free parking spots.
The beach is clean, patrolled and hosts a number of eateries in easy walking distance.
There is a great sea water pool for a few laps.
The area is clean and well maintained. Lots of showers, bbq’s and toilets.
The beach is on the walking/ jogging trail linking a number of adjacent beaches in both directions, the section going north from Kings to Moffat beach forms part of a war memorial trail and this alone is a credit to all involved.Written 8 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lovely walk (lots of stairs but fine if you are fit and healthy). The rock pool was incredible! We were fortunate the waterfall was flowing and the water was lovely for a swim. The scenery can’t be captured by photo, you must lie in the rock pool and take it in! We even had a goanna grace us with their presence to top the day off. I didn’t want to leave and will absolutely go again next time we are in Australia.Written 4 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
