Always a joy to visit, especially around Christmas time with the wonderful lighting display, all the great entertainment and the wonderful park, great to visit with or without the lighting display.
Amazing light collections throughout the park and plenty of opportunities for great photographs; overall, a great opportunity to explore the area.

We visited this wonderful park in mid October and lots of beautiful shrubs and trees,yes trees, were in sparkling splendor.
We missed the Rhododendron's but the park was a winding entertaining drive off the Surf Highway and the visitors information area is under expansion and renovation.

The walk from Dawson Falls car park to Stratford Plateau and back is a brilliant half-day walk.

The bridge, a remnant from attempts at farm settlements in the area before it became a national park, spans a steep valley which feeds into the River Wanganui, and the walk and views are wonderful.
We were traveling in a large rented Campervan and were relieved that Joe allowed us to park in a secure, private yard.
