Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- capykyuHong Kong, China399 contributionsWe stayed in Furano area and six of us (3 adults and 3 children) drove to Tomamu with our own skiing and snowboarding gear. We spent a day at this resort and had a good time. Due to the lack of snow, some of the courses were not opened. Despite that, we had great fun. The slopes were not crowded and the snow was not bad. The restaurants in the gondola station served great coffee and tayaki. The food on the slope was spectacular, especially the soup curry. Looking forward to skiing Tomamu again soon.Written 2 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- ichikawa2016Puerto Escondido, Mexico179 contributionsI was thinking how to take gondola for snowbord to down hill. For beginner. But this gondola and Powder Express are not walk distance that I understood. Terace is nice and Cafe provide better drink. Nice to rest there. Unfortunately there isn't any restaurant opened.Written 17 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - calebysSingapore, Singapore24 contributionsJust returned from a family trip to Club Med Tomamu. This is our third time returning and as usual the facilities and staff were great.
Compared to Club Med Kiroro I think Tomamu is a bit more kid-friendly as the facilities seems to be more "customised" for Club Med, i.e. there is a large amphitheater that hosts shows and kids programs in the middle of a large activities space (with bars and seats). Club Med Kiroro was a retrofit of a more traditional hotel, so the performance/activities area were smaller and more limited. Additionally, I think the food was better (with more variety) at Tomamu as compared to Kiroro.
One word of advice is to stay away from the Nemuro Rooms. These were the furthest rooms from everything (dining, amphitheater, ski area, etc). It is a LONG trek to get anywhere from these rooms.
There is an indoor wave pool across the street from the resort that is technically not part of Club Med but you can go with a free voucher. The water is cold (though not prohibitively so) and there are gender-specific saunas as well.
Would highly recommend for families.Written 8 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Nice little outing worth a visit with the family after day of skiing. Opens 5-10pm. We took the shuttle bus from our accommodation and got off at hoshinare tomamu. Needs cash notes for the entry tickets that is sold via a vending machine. The attendant only validates the tickets and doesn't handle transactions. Our accommodation reception sold the tickets too and would have been better to have pre-purchased them. The path to the Ice Village is outdoors in the dark but reasonably well lit pretty path in the snow. A slide made of ice leads into the village carved out of ice with shops for snacks and marshmallows on sticks to roast on the open fires. Also a bar for those inclined for a drink or cold ramen on barstools made of blocks of ice.
Fascinating little place.Written 7 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - OpaMarnieWollongong, Australia410 contributionsNot much to see at this stop but it has plenty of parking clean toilets and will supply vending machines if nothing else it is a clean rest area for travellersWritten 10 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MargaretllcHong Kong, China1,835 contributionsWe came during night time and therefore difficult to see much outside. I bet summer with all the greens will speak itself much better than a snowy night. The chapel has a 10-min movie to explain the background. My 8-year old daughter surprisingly seems to understand the creator’s concept of integrating nature and divinity! Regardless if you are a Christian or not, this is highly recommended to seek peace of mind.Written 24 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Natalie KMae Nam, Thailand393 contributionsOk for a stop on the way if you are driving from Chitose Airport to Furano. Clean, bathrooms, food options and shopping however its basic. We stopped for chicken karage and potato croquettes at the one main restaurant. A few other inside stores selling sandwiches, a mini mart, souviner shop and outside a vendor selling takoaki and that it for choice. A pit stop is all this place is suitable for. Plenty of car parks available.Written 20 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
