The driver was late picking us up, but there had been some flooding and trees down after heavy rain the night before, but we were in time for the trip. After a safety briefing we set off, but there were issues with the boat's motor that meant a couple of unplanned stops, but we got to see the eagles feeding, an awesome sight from so close. By the time we had done this, a replacement boat came and we changed over.
It was noticeable that the tour operators encouraged minimal interference with animal behaviour, so did not throw food for the eagles and kites, or the monkeys. This was different to another boat where someone threw fruit to the monkeys causing some of them to jump into the boat, whereas our boat told us to put away plastic bottles etc and quietly moved close to a group of them without causing any conflict.
The boat captain and the guide were very good at helping people in and out of the boat at the stops at the floating restaurant, bat cave and beach, especially for my wife who had an injured knee.

It was an early start to the day(one thing teenagers don't like), we were driven to a jetty and got a boat out to see, swim with and feed the fish. The boat driver was patient, helpful and informative. On our way back to the most beautiful beach we spotted dolphins which we watched for about 20 minutes which was unscheduled but we all loved it. From the beach we were taken to the cable cars which is a must. The scenery was stunning but wear sun screen, in the queues you can get quite burnt. The bridge walk is well worth doing, we walked all the steps down and up again though there is a car that can take you back up(at a minimal cost).
We then went into the last beach which is stunning and we will return before we leave.

Our tour guide was Karmel and he was reliable and punctual, with our names on show for pick up. We did have to walk the length of the pier and go to the World Resort Hotel entrance to be picked up. - cricketnut29Auckland Central, New Zealand117 contributionsOur group of 6 people had the pleasure of organising a private tour with Sam Lim of SLC Langkawi during our recent Asian cruise on the Diamond Princess.
In this tour we did a 2 hour Mangrove tour where we saw both eagles that Langawi Island is renown for and had lunch at the Jumbo Seafood restaurant whilst on the Mangrove river tour. We also enjoyed a cable car and skybridge tour, and finished by visiting Eagle Square where the huge red eagle monument is before being returned to the ship.
The tour was excellently guided by Sam Lim in an air conditioned van and professionally run and highly recommended.

Small group tour. Lunch & refreshments after kayaking was fresh, tasty & in abundance.
