Our friends live in Kurrajong and while we were staying we spent a couple of hours at the Bilpin Cider Co. We had a few drinks as part of a tasting plater, followed by some burgers, followed by a few cases of cider to drink back home.
Great place to visit, really good set up.

Another accidental find, stopped had pizza, I had a Chardonnay, my partner had a cider - both made by the establishment both good, not a buttery chards(a shame), more light and bright. Wood fire pizza was spectacular, outlook was amazing, they have live music in the weekend and I can see how amazing that would be!!

Early May visit had plenty of gorgeous autumn colours. Entrance to gardens is via the souvenir shop and a locked gate. Pay the entrance fee, you are given a map and gate opened. Main garden is a stunning garden of autumn colours, hedges, trees and lake with birdsong and plenty of space for everyone. Recommend visiting this garden but don’t bother with the cafe. Service very slow and scones just ok.

Pick your own tasty fresh apples and pears. Not very well signposted as to where some of the fruit was and no one in the orchards to help ask for directions or help with picking. Jams and preserves for sale look and taste great. VERY expensive fruit turnovers.

Went with my family and extended family to the orchard to pick some apples this Sunday and had a great experience. There are toilets on site, ample parking outside the orchard.

We picked some pink ladies and granny smiths and the apples are delicious. One highlight is the initial tour by a guide of what they have, what can be picked, where we can go, what can we do or not do. Not the same experience we had in other (pick your own) PYO farms where you are by yourself.

It is about an hour, hour and a half drive from Sydney and is right off the ‘Bells Line of Road’. Some tool to help you pick apples from up the top would be useful as all the good ones are up there and are not reachable. The orchard also has a dedicated picnic area which is great if you take kids and wish to spend some quality time.

Pricing could be marked better as there is no incentive of picking apples from the orchard by yourself when the price is comparable to what you get in Woolys or Coles. (Unlike Cherries, that review is for another day, season). You can go for the experience, won’t save much though.

We, 2 families including 5 kids visited this place on a summer day for apple picking. They also offer strawberry picking. The place is well maintained and have 3 different varieties of apples open for visitors. For 3$ fee for apple picking, or 10$ for apple and strawberry picking, they experience was worth the money you pay. Kids had good time. They also had few animals (Llama, sheep, hens, ducks). You can buy eggs, freshly made jam etc from the shop if interested.

We bought the apples and strawberries which we plucked; however, strawberries went bad by the time we reached back home due to our poor packing. Apples were good. So, I would suggest eating the strawberries as and when you pick.

When you visit Saliba Fruits you get to sample and purchase the freshest produce. While this is not a pick your own orchard you can choose from bagged or loose fruit in large packing bins. One of the great things about this orchard is the husband and wife owners. They make you feel warmly welcomed the moment you walk through the door. Will certainly return when next in Bilpin.

We went to Shields Orchard after a recommendation from a friend. Being apple picking season we were shown the four varieties they were currently growing and got to taste them as well. We were then shown where the different varieties were growing and let loose to pick what we wanted. Bill (the owner) was super friendly and very funny. He made a good visit really enjoyable.
My little one had never seen apples growing on a tree and loved picking them.
There is nothing as fresh as an apple straight from the tree. At $4.00 a kilo you can't beat the value!
I highly recommend Shields. I have been to two others in the area but they weren't nearly as friendly. We will be back!
