Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you have a chance to be in Collazzone on sunday morning and love choirs singing, don’t miss this experience. The choir sings every sunday at 10.00 in the Main church during the Sunday Service. Their latin singing and very accurate execution are an unforgettable spiritual experience. The director of the choir is Don Lorenzo Romagna. A young priest very well known choir master and organ music composer.

Brilliant to have jacuzzi, Turkish bath and sauna each day included in the holiday, superb. Friendly lady who also does treatments such as body scrubs, facials and massages. Perfect setting. Ample fresh fruit, fruit teas and juices in the relaxation area. Robes, slippers and towels provided.

Before you book you will undoubtedly be aware that this hotel is in a quite remote position and is approached by a four mile journey over a narrow, twisty lane and a car is pretty much a necessity.. This is not really a problem and of course the plus side is that the hotel is set in a quite commanding position on the top of the hill with stunning views in all directions. The hotel is well worth the journey. Being a restored medieval village it is full of character. The public areas are spacious and inviting and meals are served either inside the restaurant or out on the very pleasant terrace. Our room was spacious and characterful and was fully serviced daily by a very friendly chambermaid. Indeed we found all of the staff (with the exception of the restaurant) to be extremely friendly and helpful.. We had a delayed flight and arrived much later than planned after the restaurant had closed. However the reception staff had thoughtfully arranged for plates of cold meat and cheeses to be available for when we arrived and to be fair to the restaurant staff a couple of them stayed on to serve us. Overall for the price paid we found the hotel to be excellent value and would have no hesitation in recommending it. Indeed several people we spoke were on return visits.

Having read previous equivocal reports about the food at this hotel we decided to book bed and breakfast and in retrospect were glad that we did. The buffet style breakfast was absolutely fine. Some have complained that it was repetitive - but what do you expect? We found a very wide choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurts, fruit juice, cooked meats, pastries, cooked eggs, sausage and bacon, toast etc. We had breakfast on the terrace and found it to be a pleasant experience. We ate evening meal at the hotel once in the week that we stayed there and have to say it was very disappointing. The food we had was poorly cooked, poorly presented and lukewarm. The restaurant staff did not appear happy in their work - the food was just plonked down in front of us without a word or a smile or any follow up to see whether we were enjoying our meal. Having run a 60 cover restaurant ourselves for 10 years we think we can tell when things are not right and this restaurant did not have a good feel about it. Unusually for Italy there seemed to be no passion in the food choices, preparation, cooking or service. This hotel is really missing a trick with their food offer particularly since at the bottom of the drive there is an authentic agrotourismo rustic restaurant which serves great food at half the price of the hotel and with a smile on their face! We ate there three nights and as you might imagine is was very well frequented by hotel guests.

I wouldn't put you off going here - it is a really lovely hotel and I would go back. I would have given it a full five points but for the food. My advice is go - but go bed and breakfast!

The crazy norwegian lady recomended this place to us. The coffee was great, their terrace is nice and prices are decent. Maybe she is not that crazy afterall.

We had a tour of the winery as a part of our hotel package. Our guide took us around the winery explaining all aspects of the growing grapes and the processing of wine. It was so interesting. At the end of our tour we sampled several wines produced there as well as the their olive oil that we sampled on toast. We didn’t order their wine, even though we enjoyed it, because we make our own wine at home but we really liked the olive oil so we had some sent home. The shipping process was really easy. We just reordered another 3 liter shipment online.
