Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our group enjoyed snow sledding, ice fishing, korean snacks and grilled trout. The overall experience was wonderful.

This year's trout fishing started on 30 Dec 2022. You can go there via day tour (Klook) which includes open-air ice fishing or via public transport. The ticket for the day tour includes open air fishing (according to their website, foreigners who wish to book the tent fishing have to call them via phone).

We didn't manage to catch any fish, but like other reviews, a kind hearted local who managed to catch many fish gave them to the children who didn't manage to catch anything. There is no foreigner fishing area as far as I know.

There is a pool whereby participants can take part in the competition where they jumped into the area and tried to catch trout. There is also an indoor area for children to fish.

There are no English instructions on how to get your fish grilled, so you have to ask around or figure out where to go (2nd floor of blue building), and what to do.

(For those who wants to grill your fish, you will have to go to the 2nd floor of the blue building where there is an open area. Enter the room behind the open area.
First join the long queue with the 2 small square windows to pay 4000 KRW to grill your fish, then join the 2nd long queue for the big window to pass your grill ticket and fish to the ladies inside to prepare and wrap into an alumni foil, before passing it to the grilling station (the longish "oven" outside which uses chopped wood) to grill for 15 min (you have to track the time yourself)).

Definitely an eye opener and pretty fun! But do note that the return trip by coach will take 3-4 hours due to peak hour traffic.

This was a very unique festival. We went to the fire portion, on Saturday. There were five different stages with at least two of them running a show throughout the day (sometimes all five). There was a sectioned-off children's area, as well. Plan to spend at least two hours; we went with friends and stayed about 5.5 and thought that was perfect as we spent part of the time seated and chatting.

There were lots of people but it was not overly crowded. There was plenty of seating and they gave us little folded pads to sit on as part of the admission, in case we ever wanted to sit on the ground (we did not). Though not romantic, this would work for couples. Older couples would enjoy it, too. If you have children, please read the entire review carefully.

Shows were unique and entertaining. We saw marionettes, modern dancers, African dancers, comedy, traditional mimes, large dancing dinosaurs, circus-style acrobats and along with the theme, fire twirlers. Some characters roamed the park and there were a few "parades" that passed through. Though it is called a mime festival, there was some speaking in English with a few words or phrases in other languages, here and there.

The highlight of the festival on the day we went were the fire shows, done about an hour after the sun set. Fire carousels, fire shooters, fire balls, fire twirlers, fire eaters, fireworks, and a huge ball of fire kept the excitement burning (pun intended) for quite some time.

There was quite a bit of variety in the food vendors. In one section, people could roast meat they purchased at nearby booths (open fires are provided in that area so if you have little people who run around, be mindful!) Beer was for sale and when we visited, there was complimentary water. There were also tables with handicrafts for sale, as well as a few trinkets and crafts for the kids.

We did not go on any other day, but the water portion of the festival sounds grand, as long as the weather cooperates. We only stayed until 11pm but I'm sure the merriment continued on into the night (lasts until 5am). Even if it's hot, bring a sweater because the temperature drop can be a little steep.

Note to parents: I would be remiss if I did not mention this. They sold red lighted devil's horns and some of the staff were wearing them, as well. At the back of the festival, one of the shows looked like there was a hell theme that lasted maybe half an hour but the rest of the festival was not like that. I am guessing it was because it was the fire festival? If this bothers you I would suggest going to the water day or some other portion of the festival, as we plan to next year.

One of the best shows that you will ever see. We saw it in Adelaide and now, again in Korea 😍🇰🇷🫶. If you are visiting Korea, the Korail “A-train” from Seoul to Jeongseon-gun takes about 3 hours and is a real treat. Visit the town, see the musical and have a lovely train trip back to Seoul. What a fantastic day out!!!!! Easily 5 stars!!!!
