Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent tour with Ken our guide of Tsukiji Fish market, then Toyosu market and ending at Kappabashi Street. Ken met us at our hotel in Shinjuku and took us on the train to Tsukiji market giving us very helpful guidance to master the rail system. We can now get ourselves fairly easily around Tokyo on rail. Thank you Ken. Ken’s English is very good and we learnt heaps from him. He is a pleasure to be with. I would highly recommend his tours. He persuaded us to go to Tsukiji market at 8.00 am (rather than 9.00 am) as it gets crowded as the day goes by. This was a very good plan and we had a very good tour of the market without it being it being overly crowded.

The food tour was amazing, eating different foods from the eras. Edo to modern to future. Gide Mico was very informative and helpful.

Samir brings his A++ game. There was an ebb and flow: history, nature, bustling markets, and pop culture. See you again!

My wife and I were visiting family in Yokohama and planned to spend a few days in Tokyo, but didn’t know where to start. Miko helped us enormously! She is a kind, thoughtful, warm guide to the city, and incredibly knowledgeable too—we learned about the best places to eat and explore and a ton of fascinating history. Miko was so patient with our questions and wanted to get to know us to better tailor and personalize the tour. We did so much in just a few short hours: walked through the stunning Hamarikyu Garden, sampled dashi from a shop that opened in the 1700s, tried amazake and imo kenpi at Japan’s first department store (founded at a kimono store in 1673!), drank the best coffee of my entire life, visited the Fukutoku Shrine and the Sensoji Temple (dating back to 628!) and bought darumas along the Nakamise Shopping Street. Finally, we wandered through Kappabashi Kitchen Town (my wife and I love cooking) and concluded the tour at the Ganso Shokuhin Sample-ya Kappabashi Showroom (the inventors of the hyperrealistic sample food displays you see in restaurant windows). After the tour, we felt way more comfortable in Tokyo and have already been back to explore more of Miko’s recommendations. In short: we can’t recommend this experience enough! Thank you, Miko!

I visited the Meiji-Shrine and the Harajuku district with Akiko last september. She was very friendly, flexible and keen to talk about Japanese culture, society and customs in addition of the tourist information about the sites. The tour enabled me to see little details that I wouldn't have noticed on my own. Akiko also gave me very good advice on how to continue visiting the city. I'd definitely recommend it!

Amazing time at this sake tasting! Loved the small group and cool tasting room. A cozy gathering that was a highlight on my trip. So much more tasty and fun than I could have expected! Thank you Aaron for the hospitality! Can’t wait to come again on my next trip!

We had a great time. Miko, our guide spoke great English and was both extremely kind and knowledgeable. She was especially great with our three kids. The range of foods and places were great and we learned a lot about both Japanese food and about Tokyo. Cannot recommend this tour enough, it was everything we had hoped for.

What a genuinely lovely young man. He asked what we wanted to do and made suggestions and planned it all out. We loved our tour and always felt safe and looked after. Seiji has an all-around knowledge of both historical and modern Tokyo and can communicate really well (he speaks better English than me!). We really enjoyed the food in the authentic restaurant he chose. He even organised a rickshaw ride for us with the amazing Jimmy. Seiji also takes some great photos. I thoroughly recommend you choose him as your guide. We'll certainly be using his services next time we are in Tokyo.
