Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I primarily went to Dalwood as I heard there was a Heritage walk there. It was lovely walking through the vineyard, and get to know something of the area, and the Wyndham family along the way. There was hardly anyone there, and it is an easy walk. Some of it would be suitable for wheelchairs, but part is across paddocks. They don't mind dogs either! Took about an hour and a half at a leisurely pace. There is also a bbq area just above the river. The cellar door only reopened at easter and it has a small cafe and function area. Coffee could have been stronger, but the wines were good.

This is a new small shopping mall.

It contains a Coles and several small shops like Pharmacy, Kebab Shop etc. Its handy for those in the local area who dont have to travel all the way to Cessnock.

There is also the excellent Huntlee Tavern.

We visited in Fall for Australia, May 2010, and were there with my 70+ yr. old parents. Horse and buggy was very appealing and our ride was about three hours long, given by the owner of a major vineyard. Definitely the way to go to experience the land. It was informative, fun and relaxing and allowed us to savor Australian wine country at its best.
We saw roos, as the Australians call them, and stopped occasionally at wineries and a general store. It was on this tour that we experienced the organic winery. That in itself is amazing - to hear & see that process.
One of the vineyards was a rest stop photo op, where the tour guide obliged us with pictures from our camera.
If back in Hunter Valley, would do this again!
