Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Bill F204 contributionsThis is a must visit town built on a hill with great views over the surrounding country.
Narrow twisting alleys
So many restaurants to choose from
Plenty of parkingWritten 22 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - BrakiWorldTravelerBelgrade, Serbia20,003 contributionsChiesa Madre San Giorgio dates back to 18c and serves as the main Locorotondo Church. It's set on a small square within the old town tiny alleys.
Likewise many towns in Italy a modest and simple Baroque facade hides terrific interiors with great marble art, two side altars and beautiful dome.Written 1 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Barely wider than the doorway it passes through a vaulted corridor with fresco ceiling of musicians
to a small altar beneath a drum cupola with lantern light. The frescoes are not in particularly good condition but the church is beautiful in its simplicity and without the heavy decorative features of the bigger churches is almost more genuine in its importance.
Well worth looking out for it.Written 20 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Nice alley with very decorative ironwork and flowers, but I would not go out of my way to see it. It's a residential alley of Locorotondo.Written 15 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Susan SWeehawken, NJ104 contributionsMany black iron crosses in this small church, ancient sculptures and alters. Great for Mass, concerts, art exhibits, etc. I have been going there for 13 years. Fabulous site of history.Written 16 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Susan SWeehawken, NJ104 contributionsWe have met people here in the center of Locorotondo for the past 13 years from all over the world. We have kept those special friendships which are priceless. There is the Cafe della Villa which is great for drinks, gelato, snacks, pizza, panzeroti...it's the first stop for tourists and their prices are a little higher than the other Locorotondan cafes. We love it though, and meet all our friends inside and out. Sitting outdoors people watching is fun.Written 19 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Richard RVancouver, Canada22 contributionsWe've done lots of winery tours and visits and were really impressed with this one. For 20 Euros each we went to a vineyard outside of town and learnt about all the grapes they are working with. We then went to their beautiful new trulli winery site which will open soon. Stunning views across to Locorotondo, before heading back to the winery for tasting with some nibblies. They are producing high quality wines primarily for export and the quality was excellent. Our tour guide was the founders granddaughter and she was exceptional. Definitely worth it.Written 29 July 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Andy FDevizes, UK1,394 contributionsWalk up and through the town, through the main square and right ahead of you is the parco comunale. There's a large and impressive war memorial at the entrance. Plenty of trees & shady benches, although this is not a very large space. At the far side there are railings with a view down into the plain below.Written 20 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Miss Ivy3 contributionsOur visit to this bar was closed for us, because we didn’t speak Italian, i think. The owner said that de bar was closed when we wanted to order coffee. But the café was full with customers and the bar wasn’t closed for them.Written 14 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 2far2pointSanta Barbara, California11 contributionsYou cannot taste wine here, only buy it without tasting it first.
