Loved my day here, always wanted to view a prison to see what it is really like, our tour guide Keith was very informative, even telling us a few stories about when he worked there.
You can go practically anywhere in this section including right up to the top floor which offers good views and vistas of splendid interior decor and lookout posts.

... stone the path ways are some what un even in places so watch your footing if you're a little shaky on the legs, but of course there are plenty of pews to sit on if you wanted to just sit and soak in the view.
This was one of the most important of medieval sites, and is well worth a visit.

The dinosaur images attract the kids of course, but the route is so cleverly designed that one twists in and around new sights ever minute or so.

Climbed to Laura's tower and enjoyed the views of Shrewsbury which were simply stunning - a great activity and free!!
Having got as far as the castle this extra little climb allowed wonderful views across the lovely sights of Shrewsbury.

Lord Hill column is worth a visit , because of the rich heritage of Shropshire , the panoramic views and to help the campaign to renew the weather worn statue.

Finally we enjoyed a lovely walk around the gardens, orchard and vegetable garden which was great to enjoy all the nature and views around the property especially as the weather was dry and sunny.
From the entrance hall into the inner foyer with its stunning floor tiles, majestic staircase which you can walk around and view portraits of the family which in turn lead to the bedrooms is a joy.

Really a must-see area, this place stands out as a gem among all the great historic sites in the area.
It truly is advisable to use the guide as it brings the history of Wenlock priory to life,i would of struggled to fully appreciate the site without the use of the audio guide.

... full day trip out, the staff are very friendly and knowledgable, and the catering staff are really friendly and polite, there are toilets on site, and is an easy farm to get around with pushchairs or wheelchairs.
After meeting the animals we spent most of the afternoon looking around the farm and there was a varied and plentiful assortment of animals to view such as owls, wolves, deers.
