Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Some very interesting and quirky things to see in here, great for the kids, I loved the Alice in Wonderland display and the world globes. Would be good if looking for a present or adding to a collection, I didn't find anything I wanted to buy but others might, oh and the toilet is worth a look. There is also a cafe out the back.

My daughter found this place in our Tasmania travel book & to quote another reviewer it blew our minds. My 19 & 20 year old daughters loved it. There are so many awesome book’s & crannies and a great place to sit and have a beverage including coffee/tea. Highly recommend to stop even if not to buy. It is Amazing! One of the best gift shops I have ever seen. And yes keep youngsters with a guided adult hand!

Grumpy woman still behind the counter. The old building can never be replaced. I guess they have improvised the best they could minus the smiles, lacked completely. We won't return in a hurry. No need to being exposed to grumpy staff.

It was a very interesting shop with beautiful decor and unique themes. We have purchased a few things during our visit. We could spend more time in the shop for photo taking and investigate their unique items. If you are in the area, it is a must visit if you are into unique or interesting items

Outside signage greatly underrates what’s inside. Beautiful collection of homewares, toys, books, food, wine and many other items. Small coffee shop at the back with leather Chesterfield lounges to sit and relax whilst sipping. A absolute must.

We had to line up outside and wait till people left before we could go in, I thought this was awesome. However, once inside it was a free for all. Everyone going all directions. No social distancing at all. No markings on the floor guiding to only go in a certain direction. Was very disappointing. The other thing was we tried to go here the day before and were politely told we couldn’t as they do t allow drinks in the store and we had a take away coffee. Felt this was fair enough, till we went today and at the cafe (at the back of the store) they sell take away coffee. 😩 So you can buy a coffee there and walk around with it, but can’t go in with one. They did have sanitiser as you entered, but all in all the rules around Coronavirus are not being upheld in the store. Sad.

Everything you hear about this store is true. It is totally unique and full of surprises. This is the place to pick up that quirky, one of kind gift or add a collectable to your collection. You could easily spend hours within this store, browsing all it has to offer. Our kids loved it - so much we came back twice.

What a unique and quaint shop. To be greeted at the door with an offer to try fudge immediately made us feel welcomed. It was the surprises behind the doors/curtains that make this shop a must visit. With an on-site cafe Reliquaire is definitely worth a visit

Reliquaire shows what lateral thinking can accomplish. It is welcoming of children and others so that they may experience thetoys and surrealistic displays. To ve seen to ve believed - and just as good as that it replaced, the original succumbing to fire a few years back.

The Reliquaire is full of things for all ages. Each turn around a corner reveals something new. I went with friends who live near by and even they discovered some new things upon taking me for a visit. The time flew by as we enjoyed ourselves walking through doors and walking each nook of the store. A great place to get some time out of the sun and into your imagination.

what was the name of the hotel that was the original business where Reliquaire is.
Written 25 December 2015
It was the Stones Hotel, then the Retreat Hotel followed by it then being the Lord's Hotel. After this it was converted in to flats by the Russell family(my father in-laws grandparents) after Mr Russell passed away the building was left to his two daughters who later sold it to the Christie family in the 90's. Hope this helps ☺
