Brilliant zoo!

Was very impressed with the zoo! It had an open feel with a lot of the animals roaming freely. Good for all ages and groups! Had a great day.

We went 19/02/17 as had seen the free entry advertised and having been before thought it would be a good day out and booked a local travelodge in Barrow in Furness (10minutes drive and a lovely base to stay....not Barrow itself which is a bit dire but the hotel is perfect). As we had stayed the night before we were... More

I was really looking forward to this trip to see the new expansion work done and hoped the zoo would be improved... but although a lot of money has obviously gone into it, its been lessened. When previously it felt like a unique close encounter zoo now people are shoving you out of the way to try feed a rather... More

Took advantage of the free entry, (however you were heavily encouraged to give a contribution at the till. I had a bucket waved in my face) I have to say that whilst they have a great selection on animals to see, myself and my partner were concerned about the welfare of some of the animals there. Some looked poorly, unkempt... More

Good day but hampered by poor signage throughout the park, very muddy conditions underfoot and shocking tactics in the gift shop - 2 of 3 different items we bought had different prices marked on them than came up at the till and they refused to honour the lower price. Felt like a bit of a con at the end -... More

Not sure how they can make a free entry queue so long. Hardly any animals out to see. Viewing houses small with limited widows to see the animals.

Took advantage of free entry whilst visiting my mum in Barrow. First ever visit, glad I went as chance to see big cats, rhino ,camels etc up close. Not sure I would go again and certain aspects left a lot to be desired. Being free it was very busy and car parking was an issue. Signage in zoo not great on exits,... More

I visted the zoo with my partner and two children recently, the zoo seems to have been changed quite abit since we last went and looks like it is still being renovated. The entrance is much bigger and as soon as you walk in there is a big park which my little boy loved. Walking more into the zoo there... More
