A nice short hike with marvellous view

It was a really nice short hike with a marvelous view, it is easy to access even with small children. You can see all the view of Chartreuse from the top.

Beautiful walk up to the summit, through Alpine meadows on an easy path (our 4 year old managed it in 40mins without grumbling). Stunning views from the top, and many different paths to walk once you've done the summit - so easy to see how you could visit multiple times without losing interest. Added bonus to hear the cows coming... More

We love the restaurant at the Charmant Som. One of our favourite places and although the last 3 kms are a bit bumpy the drive is certainly worth it. Make sure you bring a sweater as it is always cooler up there! Lunches are relaxing either inside or out on the terras. Don't forget to visit the cheese shop where... More

Gradual, easy hike, or bike ride or ski, which takes about an hour. The plateau at the top is magical and travellers can even enjoy a simple meal in a rustic but nice restaurant here, in altitude.

We went on a busy, sunny Sunday when there were a lot of cars; parking and driving on the narrow road was difficult. But it was worth it for the hike to the top. it is steep and rocky, but view is fabulous. We love alpine flowers and were thrilled with those and the cow bells. The auberge was no... More

It's a little tricky to get to, but certainly worth the effort. A really grand short hike for a family (we went with a 7 year old) with spectacular views. Cows with bells helped the feeling that we really were in the Alps. Great wildflowers (in June).
